oskar27
I read in a manual that SYNC is a service which requires a $60 annual subscription after the 3 years / 60 sessions which Ford provides for free on new vehicles. Although this amount is not a big deal, I refuse to accept any annual or monthly subscriptions except for my basic needs. My question is if I don’t buy the SYNC subscription after the first 3 years, what will happen to the 4.2" displays in the instrument cluster and the 8" LCD in the center stack? Would I have ugly blank screens or just I will only loose some functions?

Haz
Just to bring additional clarity to this discussion, according to a Ford Media article, SYNC Services is the annual subscription function: "which expands voice-controlled features to include a cloud-based network of services. These include turn-by-turn directions, traffic reports, and business search information with available live operator assistance if needed. A SYNC Services subscription costs only $60 a year, besting the telematics services offered by the competition." I use my $59 total-cost TomTom One GPS to perform most of those services for me, but without the benefit of voice control or live operator assistance. Good luck!
