Lil Kim
Hey All-I just got a new Edge last week and would like to have a remote car starter installed. However, I checked with a few different places and I'm not sure where to go. Extreme Car Audio said I would need a bypass module because the Edge has "ignition security," so total would be $219 (1yr warranty, 500 ft range). Circuit City said they didn't think I needed the module and quoted $169 (not sure about warranty and range). GHI didn't elaborate on what they would need to do to get it installed, but quoted $309 (lifetime warranty on parts, 1000 ft range). Does any know for sure if the bypass module is really needed? Any ideas on someplace else to go? Thanks!
DeeKC
I am having my dealer put mine in after market. Not sure of the price, but figured they would be the most knowledgeable. You might check with your dealer on the price.
NYEdge
Yes you do need a bypass module and an extra key. I did mine that way.
