jayology
Anyone else getting terrible mileage in their 2007 Edge AWD? i feel like the mileage is getting worse. If so, did anyone find a problem with anything in the vehicle that would cause this?
ls973800
What is your definition of "terrible mileage" and "mileage is getting worse"? If you post some numbers other owner's will be able to compare yours to theirs. What MPG's are you/were you seeing, and how has it gone down? Aj Franchitti
well this is good compared to what my jeep got. Before I was getting 9mpg at best with my jeep. now im getting an average of about 17. Still not great but the edge is quite a big vehicle (bigger than im use to driving every day) so it doesnt bother me
Ron Bemberry
im coming from a 04 jag so the edge is a lot better gas wise but will tell u this the more air the car gets the better fuel to air ratio meaning go with a aftermarket airfilter wether u change the whole air sys or u buy a aftermarket filter to fit the air box, plus time to change fuel filter and hav ur jets cleaned
baespey
Yeah I noticed right away that mine was super low as well. I was averaging about 14 city and maybe 20 highway. I've either gotten used to it since getting it (a year ago) or it's gotten better. But from what I hear 1) it's common for vehicles this size and 2) it's not that low compared to others. Plus I do mostly city driving. Here's a link to my first post about it with some more info: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/10974-2007-ford-edge-low-mpg Edited July 5, 2013 by baespey
Ron Bemberry
a quick trick and its cheap too.. behind the grille is the intake bore a few nice size holes in it like the sides and at the bottom so if water gets under the hood it wont sit on the intake like if a hole was on top water will get in... and change ur air intake filter to a K&A after market air filter its about 50bucks and with the new filter and cold air will give u a better air to gas ratio
