cjd3
The remote start, as well as it usually work, shows that I am getting great winter gas mileage. However, when in remote start mode, the trip computer is not counting your gas consumed, nor time. My last fill up was about a gallon different. But, it's been wicked cold the last 2 weeks in Anchorage.
wlepse
Never checked that. But can you confirm if your heated seats turn on? I could swear mine did last year but this year they don't. Double checked the settings and there is nothing for seats so I am not sure anymore.
cmillz1331
Are the heated seats in the new models turned on using a switch or press in button? or just a normal button like the older models on the dash? that would tell you whether the seats would turn on or not....older models don't allow the heated seats to turn on during remote start. wlepse
They are controlled through MFT.
c_bova
my heated seats, even set to auto do not go on with remote start. i hate that your only options to have them come on are auto or off.
wlepse
c_bova...do you mean you have a setting for this in your left gauge cluster? I don't have a menu for the seats and I think the other menus are either auto or last setting.
c_bova
yeah, under the remote start settings for climate there is one for the heated seats for passenger and driver (i think) and both are on auto yet I've never noticed the seat any warmer when I've used the remote start. wlepse
Damn...how the hell would that disappear? Are those displays driven by the mft or do they have their own control modules? Just wondering if this is another mft gremlin.

wlepse
Sorry for the thread jack but according to the Ford Accessories site: http://accessories.ford.com/kit-remote-starter.html it should be turning on.
c_bova
I don't think that accessory works the same as the built in one
wlepse
That is what I had the dealer install and is the one of the factory options

normcloutier
My heated seats will only come on with remote start when the outside temp is below a certian point. Not sure exactly what temp but it's pretty close to freezing (0C or 32F)
cjd3
My heated seats do come on, however, when i turn the ignition, they turn off, so I have to push the button. There is also no option on mine to turn them on or off in the remote start options.
normcloutier
The seats on my 13 SEL will turn on with remote start (if selected to do so in the settings menu) but only below a certain temp and yes, will shut off when you start the vehicle. If you want the seats back on, you need to activate it from MFT
wlepse
I had a chance to double check the wifes ride yesterday and there is no menu for heated seats. I noticed c_bova has a sport...can anyone with an SEL confirm if you have this menu? Or anyone in the "know"....is this a model specific menu? Can't believe they would do that but who knows. 2011sport
Hi guys I have the 2011 edge sport full loaded with my touch sync bla bla bla...Im having trouble with the remote starter, sometimes works and sometimes i get a honk with lights flashing and no start so i freeze ! Sometimes it will start the first time and then if i try a second time (after it goes off) it wont start. My question is the a sensor to prevent start if car is still slightly warm??? Pisses me off to freeze after paying well over 40 k for a car...
wlepse
Check the hood switch. When my dealer forgot to reinstall mine after doing other work the car honked and lights flashed. Once they put it back in the system worked again. So maybe you have a bad switch or a loose connection. Switch is a plunger style switch on the front left.
