btrickey
Purchased a 2013 Edge Edge Limited with the 4 cyl. ecooboost engine back in July. Had a chance to really try out this new engine when we drove to Florida from Ontario. We took the I-75. We left with a full tank of gas and made our first fill up in Ohio after driving 383 miles (617 km). Not overly impressed with the mileage at this time, although it was windy and we had a fully loaded vehicle with the back seats folded down and travelling at the posted speed limit which was mostly 70 mph. Our next fill up was in Dalton GA after travelling 415 miles (669 km) again travelling at mostly 70 mph. What was really impressive was driving with the cruise control at 70 mph and never having the engine gear down climbing the mountains. Now that was impressive. Actually ended up with 34.3 mph (28.5 US) after the fill up in Dalton GA. Two fill ups on the road and still could drive around the Kissimmee/Orlando area for another week before having to fill up. Over all, we averaged 32.5 mph per gallon (27US), some of which was stop and go traffic for about 1/2 an hour coming home through Cincinatti. Very impressed. Glad I purchased this vehicle. WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Congrats on your new ride, and welcome to the forum. Great mileage report. Hope it continues into perpetuity :D
fishx65
Believe it or not, I get very close to the same MPG with my 2011 3.5 liter. Just drove up to do a little hunting in upper Michigan (489 miles) and got 27.2 mpg according to the idiot gauge. 4 hours at 75mph and 3 hours at 64mph. I would guess the ECO does much better in stop-and-go.
blankster
I've averaged as high as 30 MPH on my 3.5 driving under 70 MPH across Illinois which is impressive for a vehicle that size.
