SyN
Finally had a chance to drive the wifes new 2012 Edge today. I noticed there is not or I could not find any way to monitor any of the temps within the motor. Most importantly coolant temp. Am I missing this feature? akirby
Nope. Ford hasn't provided this at all in recent memory. Even with a gauge it only tells you whether it's within normal range or not - not the actual temp. You may be able to get it with an obd-II scanner. SyN
Very Sad~ As much technology as Ford put into this cock pit. I myself who is very anal about wanting to know what is going on internally. Would have really liked an extra setting on the left side of the speedo for Engine Temps. Sorry just the off-road racer coming out in me. Sorry to create another thread for no reason. Thanks akirby
akirby
Unfortunately you are the tiniest of minorities. Ford went to a binary gauge that looks like a normal gauge just because they got so many customer complaints from gauge fluctuations. I'd like them to make it a configurable option like you suggested. There are obd-ii scanners that can give you that type of information IIRC.
