cmillz1331
To be more clear, I'm looking for red LEDs for the trunk and license plate. White 5k LEDs for the rest of the interior. All for an 08 SEL Edited December 4, 2012 by cmillz1331

mtbalser
All that your looking for should be in your manual.
Cdpratt69
This link should take you to all the replacements numbers you want. cmillz1331
Thanks. I was hoping for some ppl to respond with bulb sizes they actually used. I heard some cases where the bulb sizes listed on the sylvania site were wrong. I'll check the manual. Thanks guys!
Cdpratt69
From what I remember the sizes were correct for my 2011 but I'm not sure about the models before the new model series came out. Hopefully someone has done it and will see your request for info and can tell you for certain.
PrinzII
cmillz: Out of curiosity, is a red light legal where you are?
Cdpratt69
I was wondering that too. I would think red would be ok for the license plate since it would blend in with the color of the rear running lights. I got pulled over and kindly told that my mostly blue plate light was not a good idea. The cop was very kind about it though. Ā I decided to go look at the actual written laws and those things are worse than reading an instruction manual for toilet paper.

Yeah I wouldn't think that red would be bad either since the taillights are also red...thats why I want the red so it blends better. I have a couple cop friends, I'll ask when I can
Cdpratt69
I'd personally rather pull my own teeth than read through that government blather. I knew when I put my blue led on my plate light that it was not within the law but I thought I would try to get away with it. No way I'd read through all that mess to check on a red plate led though. I'd just see how long I could get away with it...unless of course I were to be hauling illegal items. Lord knows I wouldn't do that tho!! cmillz1331
Just out of curiosity....anyone know if you can have the cargo/trunk light on all the time or on a switch? If I put a red light back there I think it would look cool if it was on all the time at night....Would match my footwell red LEDs nicely
PrinzII
I know in IL the use of red and blue lights on non-emergency vehicles is illegal. OH's law is similar.

No I haven't seen him recently and I don't have his number anymore. I'll take your word for it and thanks for letting me know before I bought the LEDs....just don't understand how red bulbs in the license plate can make a difference when the taillights are red as well.....oh well
PrinzII
Red for taillights has been federally mandated for years.
