jiveturkey
Hello- I am adding aftermarket heated seats to my SE. I have already replaced the seats with leather skins and heated carbon fiber pads. Does anyone know a good place to tap into a 12V switched 10 amp source and a illumination point? Thanks in advance
autom8r
Why a switched power source? On my wife's X3, I connected it to the power seat circuit. The switch for the kit I bought did not have a separate "illumination" wire. Whose kit did you buy?
jiveturkey
Thanks for your response. I wanted to tap into a switched 12v, so the heaters turn off when the car is shut off. Here is the unit I purchased. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Carbon-Fiber-Universal-Heated-Seat-Heater-Kit-5-Position-Dial-Ships-from-USA-/251013061269?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a718b5a95
autom8r
You're right. I just drew the power from the power seat and used a relay triggered from the HVAC controls [output to fan]. When the car shuts off, so does the fan and so do the seats.
