Logman3585
I'm looking to get a set of winter tires for my wife's edge. I found a set online but they do not have the tire pressure sensors. Could I use them on my wife's edge that has the tpms?
ls973800
You can use them, but the light on the dash will stay on. Some people actually put a piece of black electrical tape over the light to hide it. You can find replacement TPMS sensors on eBay, Amazon, etc. I just purchased a set of 4 Ford factory ones that had been removed from some take off wheels. I paid $84.00 for the set which included shipping. Got them installed into my new wheels and they work fine. I left the factory ones in the wheels I removed so the person who buys the wheels won't have to purchase another set. Your 2008 Edge uses a different sensors than the 2011 and newer edges. Yours use a flat type sensor which is attached to the inside of the wheel with a band which wraps around the wheel and holds the sensor in place. The 2011 and newer use a sensor which is held in place by the valve which is attached to the wheel. The two different types of sensors also use a different frequency to communicate with the module. You can not switch the different type sensors and have them work. You have to stay with what you have if you decide to purchase some.
