cmillz1331
Looking to get new tires due to new wheels and winter approaching but I always just get all-season tires so I don't have to change them all the time. I live in Cleveland, Ohio so I need pretty good traction but also don't want these to run down quickly. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm looking to stick to the stock 245/65/18 size btw. Thanks! Feirstein
The expensive Contintental CrossContact LX20, the Goodyear Assurance CS Tripletread and the Pirelli Scorpien Verde all scored at the top of Tire Rack's review ratings. There are not many choices available in this size.
akirby
Hard to go wrong with Michelins. They're expensive but in most cases they are worth it. I've personally owned the Pilot Sport A/S and they're great.

Feirstein
The Pilot Sport A/S is currently not available in a size that fits the Edge. Neither is the new Defender tire.
cmillz1331
My dad had to get new tires on his F-150 and Tire Kingdom recommend these in this order... 1) Nitto Crosstek 2) Michelin (Only second due to a little more expensive) 3) Pirelli Scorpion Verde He decided to go with the Nitto's b/c they were buy 2 get 2 free and they a 9 on comfort instead of 10 like the Michelins but it saved him about $600. Took a road trip to Pittsburgh from Cleveland and back yesterday and the ride was so much nicer than on the Pirelli's that Ford put on them. I have to get new tires soon, my choice may depend whether I need only 2 or all 4, will post later

I wasn't suggesting to use the Pilot Sport A/S on the Edge, just an example of a good Michelin experience.
carbonedge+
You might want to check out the Toyo Open Country H/T as well in the OEM size. I'm on my second set; rides great, good wet weather traction but I have no experience in snow.
modulo
for most of you don't know but in if you are living in Québec, you have the obligation to have your winter tires by the 15 of december. It's the LAW!!! the best for us are the MICHELIN X-ICE or the Blizzack are really good!! P.
cmillz1331
Another reason I'm glad I don't live in Canada (not hating, just saying)
Feirstein
Heck, here in upstate NY we get away with all season and even summer tires, in the winter, and lots (I mean lots) of salt! (not loving, just saying).
cmillz1331
Can't imagine how much you would slide in summer tires.....icy roads are terrible in Cleveland
fishx65
Anyone try the Yokohama Avid Envigor or the Continental Cross-contact LX20's. These two seem to get the best reviews on Tirerack. My experience with Continental in the past has not been good but things may have changed in the last 10 years.
funkfurter
I upgraded my Latitudes to Michelin LTX MS 2's on my old '08 AWD and they were a huge improvement in the snow. Still an all season tire though. Money well spent.
EdgeRacer
I just Falkins on mine and I love them.
cmillz1331
Just got all new Nitto Crosstek's on my edge today and initially I noticed a very smooth, comfortable ride and the handling was great as well. I previously had the Michilen Latitude's and those weren't bad but were more pricey. Happy with these so far, but NTB installed them and took off some of the plastidip on my wheels so I have to re do those (in my plans anyways). Other than that, I'm happy. SyN
The Wifes 12 Limited came equipt with these Michelins--->http://www.tirebuyer.com/tires/michelin/latitude-tour-hp/p/tv060026619 Her edge is not AWD. These tires do outstanding in the rain as well as just wet highway. We will see in a few months, how they do in the ice and snow. Our dealer keeps these in stock, so we will probably stick with them and just replace 2 at a time. We will rotate twice a year--->Once before Winter and Once before Summer.
