topjimmy19
Will these tires fit on my 2008 Lincoln MKX? I have the factory 20" rims with P245 50R20 tires on now. I acquired these new 60's for pretty much nothing. I want to know if they will fix before I shell out money to have the tires changed around. Anyone try this? The rear is no problem bu the front looks like it will be tight due to the strut tower. Please get back asap as I want to change them over soon. Thanks Jimmy
blankster
if you have AWD there may be issues plus a series 60 tire may change the ride, vehicle height and handling characteristics. I would stick to the stock size.
ablb
Greetings and welcome Tire Rack says they should fit. Here are 2 links, 1 for the 50 the other for the 60. http://www.tirerack....1=yes&tab=Specs http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Bridgestone&tireModel=Dueler+H%2FT+D684+II&partnum=46HR0HT684II&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes In the specs section I think the important # is the section width. Go ask Discount Tire, they should be able to tell you. ab Edited September 19, 2012 by ablb
ls973800
Go to this link and see how the two tires compare against each other. Quite a big difference in RPM's and speedometer readout, not to mention 2 inches bigger in diameter and just over 6 inches bigger in circumference! http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
blankster
If it was me I would pass.
ablb
I might do it. Because: Narrower and taller = better gas mileage. Our MKX is the wife’s daily driver and our traveling car. If: The tires aren’t new (old) made in China. Price would have to be "I acquired these new 60's for pretty much nothing." Brand. ab
blankster
If the tires are heavier then more unsprung weight in the suspension - Less mileage. Also a reflash may be needed to adjust the speedometer Edited September 19, 2012 by blankster
