melgriffith
I have a new white 2012 SE (white suede) and in the few weeks I had the car, I noticed that the bumper and body paint doesn't match. attached is the front bumper but the rear bumper is the same. Anyone here have or seen this type of issue before?
ls973800
Many different makes and models have the same problem. Some worse than others. Part of the problem is that many times the bumpers (plastic, fiberglass, etc) are painted separately from the rest of the car on the assembly line. The car that does go through the paint booth is metal. The bumper which was painted elsewhere, or even in the same factory, will usually not match the paint color of the car exactly. Really not much you can do about it except watch for it when buying a car and finding one with a similar paint match, or as close as it can get. Some colors are more noticeable than others. akirby
If it's bad take it to the dealer and ask to have the bumpers repainted under warranty. It is a common problem and if the service manager agrees it shouldn't be a problem to get it fixed.
