cmillz1331
What's the max sub size that can fit in the oem sub enclosure? I'm looking to upgrade just a little bit from the stock sub
Cdpratt69
My favorite shop in Augusta Georgia did a small mod on the factory box and put the low profile ibFlat 10" Pioneer sub back there and you would never know by looking at it that anything was changed. Turn something on with a little bass in it and THEN you can tell for sure. The 8" Sony sub that came from the factory is a POS.
cmillz1331
whats POS? and how much did they have to mod to fit the 10" low profile sub? is it a big difference in the bass? worth it?
cmillz1331
did you need to get a new amp or did you use the stock? and mine telling me how much this all ran for?
Cdpratt69
POS means piece of shit...I was trying to be politically correct. The shop just tore out one side of the stock box and then opened up the mount opening enough to accommodate the change in size. The stock Sony amp is anemic so I added a 300 watt Rockford Fosgate amp to help out the new 10" sub. It's been a while since I did it but I believe that mod cost a total of about $575 to include the amp, custom work on the box, an Audio Control LC6i for integration and the low profile pioneer sub. cmillz1331
okay thanks. Satisfied with the performance of the sub? I don't mind the stock sub just want a little more bass cause I am still 19 haha and thx for the price I was just wondering so I know what to expect when I get a quote
Cdpratt69
I was satisfied with the job they did. I am really impressed with the shop I use. They are very innovative. The 10" sub on the amp really gave a nice kick to the system but I wanted to do competitions so I went a little crazy after that. Pictures to follow. cmillz1331
wow that is awesome....thats a great idea to have all of that hidden especially since its not being used anyways....I'm guessing you don't have a spare anymore?? and about $575 for all of that?? Cdpratt69
I took out the spare a long time ago. I run a special viscous sealer kind of like slime but it's sold thru dealers. I"m part owner of a car dealership and that would be one of the perks. I have a fast inflator and another can of fix a flat in the edge for emergencies. When/if I get a flat I'm just calling Ford roadside service for a flatbed because it's an AWD model. I never planned to mess with putting a spare tire on a lowered AWD Edge even when I had the tire available. The total investment for all the equipment I listed that you see in the pics and some stuff you don't see in the pics is around $4500. That includes the Escort 9500xi radar detector and the laser jammer equipment that was installed. The new RF 3Sixty.3 OEM integration unit alone lists for $699. That's before one even gets to the amps, speakers, wiring, and box building. It adds up quickly! I'll post up a pic in a few minutes of how my Edge looks from the outside in a moment. I'm using my iPad to reply and I don't see that option here. I'll just pull out the laptop.

cmillz1331
wow you have an awesome edge....I wish I could put that much money into it but I'm only going to have my edge for about 2-3 more years so its probably not worth it. definitely in my next car though!
