Taly Andino
Hi, I just started doing some modifications to my 2008 Ford Edge SEL, and I've come accross and issue with my HID convertion kit. Seems that only one of the HID bulbs turns on. It worked fine when I tested it, place it in the headlight and went on to install the second. After installing the second and testing it, the first box didn't turn the light on. I've done the swap of boxes from the right to the left and it always seems that the first box I install doesn't turn the light on. I unplugged everything on the kit and left for about an hour, when I came back I started the process again, this time I installed the non working box first and it worked. After installing the previously working box, that one did not want to turn on. I've also switched out the bulbs and they both work just fine. Anyone come across this issue? Could it be the automatic lights? I don't use them at all. Any help or advice would be appreciated!
PrinzII
What kind of HID kit do you have?
PrinzII
My possible guess is that the ballasts from your HID kit are not digital. The first gen Edges require digital ballasts due to the nature of the electrical system.
Dingo
Is the car on or off when you turn them on?
Taly Andino
Hey guys! Seems that after troubleshooting the issue, it was just a DOA box. Contacted the company and they sent me out a new one. Installed it last night and it worked just fine. I thought it had something to do with the daytime lights still being active, but not used.
