11Edge
While parking at the doctor's office my wife bumped a post or something like it. There are white horizontal marks in a vertical plain of abouit 9 inches. It looks like she caught the side of a post. Question is, what product do I use on the bumper to "buff" the marks out assuming that it is paid transfer? If they are scratches I will have to get touch up paint. Any suggestions? I'll try to post a picture later.

akirby
Hard to tell. Try bug and tar remover or cleaner wax or mild polishing compound or clay.
c_bova
can't tell if that's paint from the pole, or paint missing from the bumper. I'd use some polish to take care of that and if that doesn't do it then some rubbing compound. my arsenal of choice would be meguiars m105 and m205. JOEHIO
You might want to try Maguires Scratch X or kit Scratch Out. Have used both with good results.
c_bova
meguiars ultimate compound and ultimate polish are good too, kind of like the 105/205 combo.

WD-40 gets rid of tar and bugs, but I am hesitant to try in on this car. What do you think?

But I think the safest thing may be a clay bar. Polishes and compounds can do damage if overused or used too aggressively.
c_bova
not really if he is just doing it by hand, he'd have to work it really really hard for a long time to damage anything. if you use a clay bar you have to polish anyways since the clay bar marrs the paint. Jarod Mayne
I have always used turtle wax for marks like that. Usually works pretty good.
JOEHIO
Maguires wax with cleaner (red bottle) also works pretty good on light scratches and scuff marks.
