rissab2010
I have an 08 Ford Edge Limited. It has 142,000 hiwghway miles on it. A couple of weeks ago it started stalling at random times, it stalled when I would approach a stoplight, whenever I first started it and when I would go in reverse. Also, the backup sensor would randomly beep when nothing was behind me going into reverse. I live in Tx where it has been hot the last few weeks. My husband replaced the spark plugs and throttle body. Still stalling. It has been at the Ford dealership for the past week. The tech says he isn't getting readable diagnostic codes. They said they updated the PCM (kind of like an Iphone update) and cleaned the top engine. They replaced the fuel pump as well. Said it was ready to be picked up. We went to pick it up and it stalled twice while I backed it out. Ford is at a loss, left it at the dealership. Anyone had this kind of problem? fishx65
Maybe a bad PCM or clogged fuel filter. Sounds like poor fuel flow at low RPM. I would ask them if they changed the fuel filter and checked the fuel lines.
rissab2010
Yep, they checked the fuel lines and said the PCM was just fine. They have been talking with different Ford engineers the past week. Hoping someone, somewhere figures out this crappy situation!
ablb
Greetings and welcome 142k miles, I’m voting for a worn wiring harness. Has the motor been washed? Might be a corroded connector. Good Luck ab
