Tire blowout on 22" wheels

Well only 5k miles and had had a blowout on my 12 Edge Sport. Hit a pothole at <20 MPH and voila. Rim not bent but tire shot. Any chance on getting a replacement thru warranty. Also I noticed that the awd has disengaged after driving 40 or so miles home. My question is will awd automatically reengage after I replace tire? Will I need to reprogram tpms? And lastly with 5k miles on other 3 tires, should rotate tires( the flat is on the driver front). Thanks in advanced

Not fair to expect a replacement through warranty. If a rock hit your windshield you wouldn't expect that to be replaced under warranty would you? You could always check with your insurance company to see if it's covered that way.

The AWD is programmed to disengage when it detects wheels of different diameter - like the mini spare. It will automatically figure everything out when you put a new tire back on. TPMS won't need to be reprogrammed as long as you keep the same sensor on the wheel.

Rotating tires is always a good idea, you can never rotate them too often.

Honestly I would take it to Ford.

I had to replace rims and tires on a S430 Lexus for my girlfriends dad and even the tire place (who I was going to order the new rims from, so they were about to make really good $$$) said that they don't even want to touch it and to take it to the dealer. So even though we're not dealing with a something like a Lexus, I would still take it to Ford to have them do the replacement because they would know best what to do.

Also that is strange, I live in New York so there are pot holes all over, and I have a very heavy foot when it comes to driving, so I am always hitting pot holes at 40+ mph and nothing happened in my Edge Sport.

Good luck replacing Pirelli's my friend... Sorry to hear that :heartbreaker: Let me know how it goes
