Limited59
I realized this morning, after exactly 11 months and 6,400 kilometres that my Edge is not Tuxedo Black as I had (I guess) assumed. The window sticker says Ebony Black. I don't drive my Edge much, let alone wash it, and I figured the permanent film of dust had obstructed the metallic from showing through. What I don't understand is why the brochure for the 2011s doesn't even show a non-metallic black as being available. Did it have something to do with the disaster in Japan? Ebony black was substituted for a short time.
mmcclure
Well if you just noticed it, I would guess the average person walking by would never notice. The metallic paint certainly has a spark to it (hence the name) but black paint looks good anytime it is cleaned up.
wilsons66604
I didn't know there were two black options when i ordered my 2011 Limited. I got the Tuxedo and boy am I glad! I think the standard black sucks. I guess it wouldn't make any difference if you never washed the car.
nickturri86
Is the tuxedo black the one with the sparkle to it? That's what I have...
2011edgese
Yup. Tuxedo black is the rainbow sparkle. I debated myself of I rather have pure black or this sparkle. Girls like the sparkle I noticed. But I've seen pre black or I think it looks as good.
