wlepse
Saw this article: http://autos.yahoo.com/blogs/motoramic/key-car-quality-study-ranks-software-bugs-most-170243393.html I guess they fell from 5th two years ago to 23rd last year.....now at 27th due to the MFT debacle. One thing I am confused by is that they say the tech is in 4 million vehicles, but updates were only sent to 377k?? They also feel the rewrite will improve their scores for next year. While I think mine is a whole lot better it still isn't quite right. I guess time will tell.

wlepse
OK that makes sense but I was under the impression the sync platform was pretty solid...no?
akirby
Sync without MFT is very solid. It was the MFT issues last year and the Focus transmission problems that brought them down. Both problems have been mostly resolved so next year's ratings should improve a lot.
Waldo
But the overall issue is that stuff like Sync will generate problems, no matter how good it is. Navigation/voice recognition / connectivity issues are rising rapidly among all manufacturers. Ford just happens to be the one taking the hit the hardest because they have these systems in a much higher percentage of their vehicles. As other OEMs get these systems into more vehicles, I think they'll start to "drop back" to where Ford is.
