Laminar
Hello, new Edge owner here. We don't have a subscription to Sirius and don't want one. As it is right now, because Sirius is listed in the Source list, it push the bluetooth-connected phone to the "second page" in the source list, requiring scrolling to reach it. Also, when pressing the "Source" button to cycle through options, hitting Sirius causes a lot of lag as the system tries to connect to Sirius, throws up several error dialogs, etc. Is there a way to remove Sirius from the source list? I've read something about disconnecting the antenna, but it wasn't clear how to do that, and it wasn't clear if there would be other repercussions. Many thanks! wlepse
Hadn't heard that about the antenna but that would be nice if it were true. But I don't think the screens are customized in that way...I would have thought the graphics were fixed but who knows.
Laminar
Here's the thread I was talking about: http://http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/2994-sirius-how-do-i/
wlepse
Yeah but that was for the previous generations...I think the software for the MFT is different and the screens may be static, I doubt they did any dynamic screens since it would take more resources to make sure the mapping of the screens starts the right thing. But still worth a try.
Waldo
Not worth a try, it won't work. You're stuck with the Sirius button until someone makes an "app" for that.
Edgieguy
By the way, where are the apps?
cjd3
By the way, where are the apps? Not on the Edge. I think there is a 50/50 chance we'll get them, but there's only a 20% chance of that happening.
Laminar
On a similar note, what is the reason that I'd connected my Edge to a wi-fi network? What features does that enable? I don't use SYNC services.
wlepse
I don't think it enables any features other than it would allow you to share you internet connection from your phone via wireless.
Laminar
If I connect my Edge to a wireless network, I can't share my phone's internet.
