scottty6
I want to remove the chromed plastic badges on the rear tailgate. Are the EDGE, SEL/LIMITED/SPORT & AWD badges just held on with adhesive or do the have pins like past badges on other Ford SUV's? Thanks Edited June 14, 2012 by scottty6
cjd3
I'm going to do the same, but i really like Edge font, and the folks here told me that they are just stuck on. No pins, no bondo, no paint touch up.
scottty6
Right on! Thanks for the info. Looks like there's some adhesive remover in my future.
cjd3
I've been told copious amounts of goo gone
dranged
I did mine. I just used a rubber wheel on a drill to take the adhesive off.
scottty6
All finished. It only took 15 minutes. I think it looks much better. Thaks for all the replys.
cjd3
I just removed my SEL and AWD. I'm pretty sure I'll keep the Edge badge on. "We don't need no stinkin' badges"
attana
Heat gun and goo gone.
Cdpratt69
In a bind I found that corn liquor moonshine works well to remove the sticky goo left on after the badge removal. Thankfully, it was cheap moonshine.
Dingo
3M adhesive remover is cheaper and works better.
Cdpratt69
It was really really cheap moonshine! Actually I used alcohol. Isn't go gone just naptha by another name? P.s. I noticed your text a little after 1 am and was afraid to call back because of it being so late. Dingo
Sooooo... When I make a post ar 1:57am, you think I might be asleep just after 1? And the remover is like $5. By the way, I'm still up.
Cdpratt69
Nooooo....I meant I saw your text to my phone about an hour after you sent it but didn't want to call at 1:00am in case you had gone to bed. Then later you posted at almost 2 pm I figured out that you had to be awake at 1:00am. Make sense? Sheesh!

Cdpratt69
I feel ya....my sleep hours are crazy... So, change of plans again. We are coming to your area tomorrow instead of this eve. My wife is still learning to read and she realized her class does not start until 12:00 tomorrow. I will call you as soon as I drop her off at the Gwinnett center to see what you want to do. sleepy23
So any of you guys still have an undamaged set of removed emblems?

Cdpratt69
Lol, hilarious! I have intact badges but you would need the rubber gasket that goes on the front one. Mine didn't last beyond one removal. Make me an offer for both and I'll consider it.
