cherrybomb
Hello All, I wanted some feedback on bug deflectors. Has anyone used them and did they provide good protection? I will be embarking on a trip into bug and stone chip land and want to protect my front end as much as possible. Also, anyone know of a good bumper guard such as the bumper bully, the one that will drape over your entire bumper so when you parallel park someone doesnt slam their car into your bumper? has anyone used the bumper bully or the like for their edge and what are your opinions? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Edited June 7, 2012 by cherrybomb

rpratali
I just installed a Weathertech bug deflector on my 2010 Edge SEL. Looks great and very easy to install.

EGR USA
Our hood guards are actually not designed as "bug deflectors". Bug deflectors are usually a bit taller. Our low profile design is used to be aerodynamic and guard the hood from rocks and debris, no necessarily deflect them.
Mario Ciliotta
Hi EGR, Does your deflector require an drilling? I also noticed that some deflector require a stand-off that needs to be attached to the hood (under the deflector) does yours require this? I hate to have to attach anything to the paint of the Edge. Thanks, Mario
rwolson
IMO< run don't walk and buy the WeatherTech. No drilling, a few inserts which go into predrilled factory holes and I think a standoff using double-sided tape. I installed the WeatherTech last summer and don't remember details re: the standoff. I replaced a cheaper deflector which broke. The WeatherTech's well built and worth the money

Chipster
Anyone with the new gen. (2015-16) Edge find a bug / hood guard that fits? Which brand did you install and how was that installation, did it require drilling? How do you like it? Please post up a picture.
Chipster
I contacted Weathertech and as of now they don't yet make a bug / stone deflectors for the second gen Edge. Who does? Pictures?
DougS
Lund makes an Aeroskin hood protector for the '15-'16 model. You can get it from Lund, or Ford sells them too at their accessories site with the Ford logo on it.
