dranged
Hey, my name is Chris, and I'm from Southwestern Ontario Canada. I own my own auto body shop, and i recently picked up a 2008 Ford Edge Limited wreck with extensive front end damage. It has 65,000kms on it, fully loaded minus nav. Here are some before and after pictures of it. Here you can see how far over the frame rails were. 2010 Front end donor vehicle and new K-Frame, also from that 2010 Frame straightening And the finished product, I also painted all the black plastic pieces that go along the bottom of the bumpers/rockers/bottom of doors. cv27
I suspect you put alot of hours into this. How much did you pay for the wreck and donor? Good job, looks brand new
dranged
I paid $5500 for it, I have a total of $10 000 into it.

1duFos
How does it drive, straight? brake, looks like you did some welding? are you going to sell it or?
akirby
Nice! How did you straighten the frame without it being attached to a jig? Or is it attached to the jig and we just can't see it?
dranged
It drives/brakes like a brand new vehicle. I'm going to keep it for at least a few years. Nothing wrong with it at all. It is clamped to the floor. You can see the tracks in the pictures.

Theakerr
How will you register it? I understand Ontario now has another set of Nanny Laws that require repairs to be registered (yet another example of the Nanny Government not thinking things through - my $3000 cosmetic hit just shows up as collision damage with - so i am told - a real hit on the resale value). I know that when I had my turkey incident the insurance company registered it and apparently it will show up in the owner transfer package. dranged
When I bought it, it was a salvage title. Now that I have jumped through all the hoops(sent the MTO all the before/after pics, all the parts receipts, Vin number of donor vehicle, alignment before/after specs, structural safety, safety/e test), it is now classified as a rebuilt title. I have already been offered $19,000 for it, which is $5000 less then what one that wasn't wrecked is worth. I would make $9000 on it if I sold it for that, but I'm not interested. I love this vehicle, runs and drives like a new car.
