Phone Mount on 2012

Recommended Posts

Here are some pics from mounting my phone in my 2012 Limited a few weeks ago (note the old software). Removing the trim, installing the mount, and reinstalling the trim is a 5 minute job. It took a couple extra minutes to run the wire and drill a small hole in a trim piece so the wire could run concealed all the way into the console.

The mount was a Panavise (751072811) In Dash Mount for 2011 Ford Edge. I ordered direct from them. You'll need to have whatever cradle and wiring that works for your specific phone. The panavise item is just a metal bracket with a generic flat plate to which you bolt your accessory.

Phone is Motorola Atrix (not shown as it was what I took the photos with).

Anybody know if this nav unit has a second usb input? I guess more accurately, whether it has a free port on the back of the unit. The sync system in my truck ('12 F150) has a secondary that I used to run my phone input just to give it a cleaner, factory look but it's only got one input on the dash. Not as big of a deal in this case since the usb ports are in the console but I was still curious. I'm not even sure how i'd get to it this case if it does have one. On the F150 there's a panel where the center speaker on the dash is that you can remove with a couple of screws and just plug it.

I do like a mount you guys used. I'm torn between it and the pro clip at the moment.

Very nice NCHeel. Did that same setup with the Panivise in dash mount. Don't know if you had seen my thread, but here it is with my install video. I'm sure it will look very familiar to you since doing your own install. Did you run the USB cable from the phone to the USB port in the center console storage area? http://www.fordedgef...h__1#entry69006

KC,

Yes, I have seen your video and your original thread. The video is very helpful in letting you know how exactly to safely remove the trim. I couldn't find your thread to post to. I now see it is under "exteriors."
