socrates3
Hi everyone, sorry if this has been asked before, I'm new to the forum and searched topics I could think of but couldn’t find any threads for what I was looking for. My wife has a 2008 Edge, no NAV, steering controls or sync - just basic factory CD player/stereo head unit. While she is out of town this weekend I am planning on upgrading her unit to a new Bluetooth JVC Double Din head unit as a surprise. Is there a step by step guide anywhere someone can link me to showing how to remove trim, etc,, and walk through a new head unit and speaker install anywhere on the site? Appreciate it. Danielj
Hello. Did you ever get a reply to this? Do you have any tips you will share? I am about to try the same thing, with a nav system running windows ce of all things! Even has rear view camera and parking radar. I would love to get it all working before my wife gets home. cjd3
I replaced the stereo in my Dad's 07 Sport Trac and it was pretty easy. By using Crutchfield as a guide, it looks like it is possible, and quite easy. Just remember you'll need to get an inline converter (Crutchfield sells them at a deal if you buy the head unit from them) if you plan on keeping the factory speakers. If you are going to upgrade the speakers, then you're fine.
