superjohn349
Does anyone know how to remove the shift lever handle on an 08 Ford Edge? I'm trying to replace the silver PRNDL panel, and need to get the handle off to remove it. Thanks in advance. superjohn349
After popping off the console piece with the cupholders n such, (just held on by clips)... 1.) Carefully pop each leather side of the handle away from the plastic strip in the middle. (Note:Don't actually pry on the leather, put rather the black plastic underneath it. It has clips holding it onto the center.) 2.) Remove a torx set screw from each side of the center part of the shifter lever. (Exposed after step 1) 3.) Disconnect the wire connector for the OD button underneath the PRNDL panel. (With a screwdriver, press the notch in the middle and pull.) 4.) The shifter handle should now pull off freely and easily. 5.) There is a push clip at the bottom of each corner of the PRNDL silver deal. (Press inward towards the center of the PRNDL thing and pull up one at a time.) 6.) Unscrew the indicator light/wire from the bottom of the assembly and take it on out. Reverse to put it back together. Sorry I couldn't bring myself to take pictures of the process.
