New to the forum, have to thank everyone for their input as I have always liked this car, and once I saw the appearance package in person, I was sold. The dealer tried to get me into a 2012 sport, but I really didnt see the need to spend the extra money when the appearance package did just that, gave me the appearance of an Edge Sport, at an SEL price. Drop the chrome wheels at 800 bucks, add the appearance package for 1500 bucks, and not only do you get the cool wheels (I am getting a lot of comments on them) but the color matching grill, and the alcantara inserts in the leather seats. Keeps the seats much cooler, and a nicer look. Love the ride, love the Ford Touch and Sync, loving sending google maps right to the car. First thing I did was change the backround in the large screen, and throw all my music on a thumb drive. Feels like I am finding new features all the time, like when I looked in the rear view mirror and saw my son reclining in the back row! That will come in handy after a long drive!

I'm assuming this 'appearance package' is something your individual dealer is cobbling together?? Not sure I'd want those 22" wheels without the power (of the 3.7) and appropriate gear ratio to match.....

An SEL is NOT a Sport. No way, no how.

Who said the SEL is a Sport?? Some way, some how mine looks like one. Just go to the website of the manufacturer of the vehicle you, yourself own and you will see the definition of the appearance package. Some people like the color matching grill, some people like the entire grill black. Ford did not upgrade the brakes to assist with the addition rolling weight of the 22" wheels on the Sport, so I am just fine with the 20" wheels that came in the appearance package. I have yet to see another Edge with them, although 2013 models have only been out a few months. Not to bash on the sport, but I drove it, and I don't feel the additional 20HP. The single clutch transmission is really not configured for flappy paddles, although they are much more fun to shift than a thumb button. So you think the Sport is so much more superior? Sure it has better sound, bigger (heavier) rims and the ability to start without turning my wrist. Not worth the 4k+ extra in my opinion. I can easily take that 4k and bump up the 3.5 liter that extra 20hp, add rear seat entertainment, paint any black panels the color of the car (including the chrome strip above the grill), and have change. That is just the way I see it. I'm still laughing at the thought of you thinking the 3.7 is faster than the 3.5....maybe by a car length, but I will get that car length back when we brake, so I guess we are even
