BeDevil79
Well done, I think this looks awesome. Cheers! Not sure why Ford didn't do this themselves for the Sport and/or App Pack....

Rockballer
Looks good. Defentaly an improvement on the black front grilles. I'm probibly the only fan here for the chrome look. But if it's black make it all black.

dugster
Hey Dingo, you have had this on for a couple years now, still look good? I am looking at the carbon fiber version to cover the front chrome/back emblems/possible bumber protector. Is this stuff printed and will wear away? or long term durable. I love the way yours looks and may go that way too. I thought the carbon fiber look would be a different looking accent. let me know. Ā Thanks

rwf78155
They specialized in wrapping vehicles ! Actually were in the process of doing a complete FLAT BLACK body wrap on a brand new Corvette. I watched them do it and they had my grill covered in 30 minutes....I cant tell the 3m piece from the original SPORT black grill!..
edge_of_murder
Lol you sound like me I hate chrome... check out my mkz. That wrap matches pretty good too.
shacho
I took my baby to have her braces removed today and now she is all smiles!! Will definitely consider wrapping the chrome strip. Thanks for the info! Before After Ā Edited October 13, 2014 by shacho
L0lboubou
did you wrapped the all grille or you painted it ?

shacho
I had a paint and body shop paint the grill inserts and install. I wanted the grill to be the exact same color as the car.
L0lboubou
I read that the chrome insert cant be paint... So it's not true!? Ā It is expensive? Ā Thanks
shacho
I heard that also but decided to purchase the already primed inserts, so if for some reason, I needed more inserts, I would have them readily available for install.
Ron Faldik
Scotchprint used to cover the chrome strip above the SPORT grill.......I can't tell the difference from the original grill color
46stanger
I know this is an old thread, but just bought my metallic wrap and that's it. Haven't had any luck of ford edge owners doing vids of their wrapping. I've seen some other wrapping vids on youtube. My question is I'm wrapping the upper strip on my sport grille and some wrapping vids use primer for the wrap to stick and others just put peel and wrap with heat gun and squeegee. I ordered the 3m 1080 metallic wrap and advice would be appreciated.
Cellbine
You should just need the heat gun and squeegee. Not sure if anyone here has used a primer to get their wrap on.

Primer, or adhesive promoter, can be very difficult to remove.

retiredarmymp
I just wrapped the chrome strip, painted the front emblem bezel and installed new painted grill emblems on the front and rear. I originallty wrapped the front emblem bezel but it didn't turn out that good (too many complex curves). I'm very happy with the way it turned out!

XB70
There is a lot of chrome on the front end of the Edge. But I'm not sure of just what method to use to turn it down a notch. But using a photo from the dealer's ad for my Edge and Microsoft Paint it is possible to experiment with some options. Here's the first try: Ā
XB70
As you can see I also decided to black out the DRL area but leave the lower chrome bar.
