b4z
Was at the dealer last weekend and felt like the Sport was higher than the other models. I measured the rear wheel well and it was about 3/8" higher off the ground than the all the other Edge's. It appears that the 22" wheel/ tire combo is taller and that no changes were made to lower the Sport. The 1 st gen srx sport was like this also. Since this is ford's handling model you would think that they wold have put lower springs in to get the center of gravity down. Also there is a lot of space between the top of the wheel and the fender lip, lowering the vehicle would help,to get rid of this and make It look more aggressive. NatG
They probably left the wheel gap to leave a certain level of ride-comfort and suspension travel. The height difference could be that the suspension on the vehicle you looked at was new (not broken in) and thus sprung a little more than normal. Most data I've read reflects they are all the same height, otherwise. Edited March 21, 2012 by NatG
guidelagui
The difference is also due to tire and wheel size. Looking at the radius of the wheel between hub and street. 265/40R22 - 15.17" 255/50R20 - 15.01" : -0.17" 245/60R18 - 14.78" : -0.39" 235/65R17 - 14.51" : -0.66" (more than half half inch abobe the stock SE wheels)
