  1. I always heard that 5k was the "broken in" point. I did not reset anything - in fact, didn't reset it once I got back either. I know people reset it like crazy; i.e., every time they fill up, etc. I did not use cruise control at all. Once you leave Memphis, freeway speed changes to 70mph. I believe it drops only a handful of times (and 65-70 is still easy). Except for those times, cruising at 80-85 (with peaks at 90 or so) mph is very easy, especially if you get into a line with a few other cars. At one point, there was a Tahoe, Z4, Explorer, Corvette, Honda Accord and myself - we stayed together for almost an hour.
  2. :hands head: yeah....a few times. But it was so fun. Open road...Nice. The ride is obviously quieter with the BAMR closed but it also depends on the quality of the road. There were sections where the freeway was pretty "fresh" and the noise dropped significantly once I rode upon that part. I did find it interesting how much wind noise there is when you are doing about 65 and then close the BAMR. It sounds like a massive wind tunnel..lol. The noise isn't so loud tho that you can't carry on a conversation.
  3. Road trip this weekend. I reset the miles driven, AVG Speed and MPG to Zero at the fill-up right before I left. A few notes: BAMR open every time we were in the car. AC was ALWAYS on. Might have been on "low", but the AC was on the entire time. I suppose there could be an issue with the wind resistance since the BAMR was open but, not a concern with me. My average speed after 210 miles (when we arrived - 3 miles on street roads, the other 207 on freeway) was 78 mph. I didn't check average speed on the return trip but I tucked behind a Mercedes SL55 and cruised at 95 mph several times. Numbers are: Miles Driven - 527 (All but about 50 miles were freeway) Average Speed - 53 MPG - 21.9
  4. True..I am in TN. Originally from California. The Cal Duster belonged to my parents before they moved to Arizona. They found an Arizona duster so they bought that and gave me the California Duster since I didn't like the Tennessee Duster.
  5. Huh? Escalade zinger? What? I simply have no idea to what you are referring.
  6. I am very interested in seeing how this works out for you. I do agree, almost everyone will take care of their Edge (then again, unless someone sees an Escalade on the road next to them). My dealer tells me to change at 7500, but then the service manager says 5000. I used to changed my 8 (with non-syn) every 3 when Mazda said 5. I'm changing at 5K regardless. I wash it nearly every week. Yes. I baby it. Cheap women and expensive liquor. Been a long while for one. About 14 hours for the other.
  7. I suppose we could meet up half way. I'd have to sit in each of the seats though so the error can be duplicated in each one. Do a search on the rattle..many of us have experienced that and it seems to come from a variety of places. I'm not sure if anyone considered the rocks in their heads though. TSB on rocks?
  8. I thought the same thing but it happened to a friend of mine. He made a few oil changes at 7K and then started having engine problems. He took it in and they told him that he went too long between oil changed. Hey...the black box can do all kinds of things. When it comes to a 30K car, it wouldn't surprise me. Granted, that was a sports car and not a CUV. And you are definitely right - there aren't too many people who are going to abuse their Edge. It's all good.
  9. Good point. I would just hate to see something bad happen; engine locks up, etc. He takes it into the dealer, they check the oil or computer or ????? and tell him he is out of luck.
  10. I did some quick reading about Amsoil - I must say, I am impressed. My Mazda used straight non-synthetic oil so for the last 3 years, I have been uninterested in synthetic oils. I will ask though - Grey has a good point. Even though the Amsoil can go longer than 7500 miles, will you change at that interval just to keep the warranty in tact?
  11. Of course I will! Nothing against the Vols....my brother-in-law is a HUGE Vol fan. I root for the home town team. Unfortunately, our football team sucks. Fortunately, our BB teams is top 3/4. Sad when the football game has more loses in one year than the BB team has had in the last 4.
  12. That is mine. And noooo....copper..ugh. I have always had red/reddish cars and wanted something different. Black is cool but that carbon is really striking. Plus, here, in Tennessee...the copper is too easily associated with the UT Volunteers. I simply can't have that.
  13. Psst...the picture on my post is the bland, simple, small stock pipes.
  14. If his Ford dealer is in Pakistan or Afghanistan, the memo may not have gotten to them yet.
  15. You don't like these? Really? Hmm....perhaps I must re-think.
  16. Upper right of this page...all the way up. Just to the left of where you see "Help." Starts with "S" and ends with earch."
  17. I have the # 1 color: Carbon. I do have to keep it clean often though; the dust really shows up on the darker colors.
  18. Ewww...really? Different profile on the 20 too...not sure how I would like that look if the gap is the same. I'm with you. I'm glad I did the 20's my way.
  19. Of course. Did you get ripped off the DVD player AND the front sway bar? Damn bro....
