Are you sure it's clogged or did the drain tube get knocked loose? I had truck one time that the drain tube would come off inside the cabin once or twice a year after I had the carpet vac'd at the car wash... Also, it is possible that you may have mold buildup on the evaporator. Had a Chrysler minivan a while back that would not drain well - mold would form in the evaporator box. Do you run your AC on recirculate all the time? It's a good idea to run some outside air through the system rather than keep in on recirc all the time. Good luck. SW

It's not quite "rubber", but it's not a "plastic". I'm use to the "rubber" mats that I've used in the back of my truck - this is a little different. I think a cooler or milk crate would stay put (depending on how agressive you drive) I'll get a chance to drive it over the next few weeks and put some "stuff" in the back and see how it rides. I know my wife will let me know if "stuff" is banging around in the cargo area when she drives. That's kinda my thoughts.... My brother had the Weathertech in the back of his Explorer a few years back. It fit well when it was new and did a good job of retaining dirt and junk in the back....It just looked ugly IMO after a year or two of "service" - the edges were curling up... The Lloyd's mat is nice and fitted - should do a good job for me in this application. Not expecting to haul dirt or anything real nasty in the back of the Edge (I have a truck for that) - just the typical groceries and kids sporting equipment.

Got a set of the Lloyd ultimate custom carpeted floor mats for the wife's new ride. She wanted carpeted mats - we don't get alot of snow in Texas - a little rain sometimes. And this vehicle won't be seeing any "offroad" action. Comments on the Lloyds Ultimat vs the factory. These mats are much larger - and the rear is one piece. Very well made and finished. Great quality My only "comment" is that the color is not an "exact" match. It's pretty close. Anyway, here's a few pics for y'all. SW Driver side front mat Passenger side front mat (shipping tags still on them...) Rear mat - from driver side The one piece design fits nicely across the entire back area. Lays flat - no "buckles" Rear mat - from passenger side

Got around to ordering a rear cargo mat for my 2010 Edge with the Camel interior. I didn't want the cargo mat with the "lip" like the Weathertech - decided to try the Lloyds RubberTite cargo mat. My opinion - it fits perfectly. Lays flat and runs from side to side, front to back. Great coverage. Here's a few pics. SW

Wife needed a new ride. She has been driving minivans for the past 12 years. Last van was a 2004 Honda Odyssey. It was time to get rid of the minivan - Kids have "outgrown" it. She didn't want a sedan. We don't need a big SUV (I have an F150 for hauling/pulling trailers). We looked at the Lexus RX, Infinity FX and Nissan Murano. The Edge had more of what she wanted at a better price. And I prefer to buy American when I can.

How long do you think your Edge will last you?
StrongWind replied to Filtercharged07's topic in Lounge
Should last a while with proper care and maintenance. My last Ford was a 2001 F150 SuperCrew Lariat 2WD. Drove it for 9 years and 160,000 miles without a major issue. Sold it because I wanted the "newer" bodystyle - I found a great used 2007 F150 SuperCrew Lariat 2WD to replace it. I've been very happy with Ford products. They build a good quality vehicle at a reasonable price. I see no reason to expect "less" from our new 2010 Edge. -
I'll add my $0.02 to the discussion... I have not experienced this with my Edge (it's less than a month old now...), but I have experienced what you are describing with my previous Ford truck. Truck was a 2001 F150 SuperCrew Lariat 2WD with the 5.4L I would get the random puff of blue smoke from the exhaust when starting. I had trouble "repeating" the event. Sometimes I would see it for a day or two in a row, it would go away for months, then show up again for a day or two. Never had any oil related issues with the truck. It would use a little oil between changes (less than a quart for 4,000 miles +/-). Truck was used as my primary commuter vehicle along with towing "toys" on the weekends (6,500# travel trailer, 5,000# boat, 7,000# trailer/Jeep combination, assortment of other smaller trailers...). One explaination I heard that makes some sense is that you can get a little oil from the top end running down the valve guides and settling in the combustion chamber. When you start up, the oil burns off. Was told not to worry if it just "puffs" and goes away. For the record, I had the 2001 truck for 8 1/2 years, put over 160,000 miles on it at the time I sold it and NEVER had an oil related issue. Oil (conventional)/filter was changed every 4,000 miles. While I didn't "abuse" the truck, I used it like a "truck". FYI - I replaced the 2001 truck with an almost identical 2007 model....Ford makes a good product. I'd keep an eye on it and watch your oil level to see if anything significant changes. Good luck.

OK...I'm new to the site...I'll play. :D Of course we have the Edge for the Mrs.... My ride is a 2007 Ford F150 SuperCrew Lariat (2WD) Daughter drives a Honda Element she calls "Herman" (for Herman Munster...) And my "toy" - 1993 Jeep YJ. I've had this for close to 10 years now. Spend my spare time modifying/fabricating/etc.... I've done all the work on it except the gearing. Running about 5 1/2" lift with 35" tires. Swapped the axles running ARB lockers front and rear. It keeps me busy and entertained...It's the "never-ending" project.... Yes, I do "use it"...

Very close for me. I want the black 4 door convertible, white top, white leather interior..... I'd still take it. :shades:

Howdy from the northwest side of Houston.

Interesting....I don't notice it. Guess many year of listening to AC/DC, Van Halen, Def Leppard in high school have ruined my high frequency hearing..... If you find the the noise from the fuel pump annoying, why not add a cat back exhaust system to give the Edge a little rumble?

$30 Bike Carrier (Receiver style)
StrongWind replied to Nomos's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Roof Racks & Towing
Post up some pics. I would be interested to see what it looks like installed on the Edge. Personally, I'm a little wary of stuff from Harbor Freight. Don't get me wrong, I have a bunch of hand tools I've purchased from them that are OK....They certainly are not the quality of the Mac, Snap On or even Craftsman tool that I have in my box. The tools I've purchased form them fit the "need", but they have failed on me....I'd be nervous using their stuff where safety or damage to my "stuff" is involved. I would be concerned hanging a significant investment in bikes off the back of my vehicle on an inexpensive "Made in China" carrier. Over the years I've been very happy with Yakima racks for hauling bikes, kayaks, etc on a varitey of cars and trucks - both on the roof and in a receiver hitch. NEVER had a single issue with probably thousands of miles of travel at highway speeds and "off the beaten path". I've been able to talk to Yakima on the phone to answer specific questions about my setup(s) - great customer support. Not trying to be argumentative, just offering my opinion. Good luck! -
Driving light bulbs on SEL

Another source I've used for ordering LED's online is http://www.oznium.com/ I've purchased many different strips/LEDs/buldb from them. Quick and inexepensive shipping. Never had any issues with the 4 or 5 orders I've places through them.
