From what I understand it is a saftey feature. It should explain this in the owners manual.

Update: Wife took it to the dealer and apparently it came from the factory without the proper lubrication. They lubricated and it seems to be working fine now. They didn't mention anything about a TSB but it works so I am happy now. Thanks.

I know I am late to this thread but...... We just bought a 2010 Edge Limited, took delivery on Wednesday. My wife came home last night (Thursday) and said the roof was closing really slow and not closing all the way. When I went and looked at it seems that many of the issues explained here we have. It is really slow closing and most of the time won't close the entire way, stops about 4"-8" short. If you assist it with your had it seems that we can get it closed. Interested to know if it is a lubrication issue and if so what are people using to lubricate. I was thinking of trying lubricant this weekend. Have an appointment scheduled for Monday at the dealership. Just really said that we haven't even had the vehicle 72 hours and it has to go in for service! Thanks, Gary
