Anyone?
To clarify, I have reviewed many posts on our EDGE lights but they are mostly a few years old. I asked because there are so many new choices on Amazon . I was interested to know actual users experience before I choose.
Also, the manufacturers descriptions and videos are all glowing (lol pun intended)
I have a 2012 Edge with projector lenses and halogen bulbs. I want to change them. I spoke to a Ford service man that I know and he said that the LED conversions have a bad habit of melting the headlight housing. I thought I would switch out to HID's with a remote ballast. In reading posts, I can't find any recent information. Is there anyone out there who has done the HID conversion? Whose product did you use and was it successful?
Thanks in advance.
New to California, I drove local streets in Berkeley and then back to Marin today. The Nav was flawless .( 2012 not updated).. Much better than my 2016 MB or my google maps on iphone....................Just saying
Thanks !!!!!!
I qualify for the " Field Service Action Item"
I guess it cannot be called a Recall since it is not a safety issue mandated by NTSA ?
BTW my Ford Edge has been the most reliable vehicle I ever owned in fifty years(I guess I'm old). Quite a few unreliable BMW's and Mopars, but not the EDGE!
The write up and photographs on the spark plug replacement are fabulous and great help. Many thanks.
I would add one change. Since the spring clamp on the brake booster line is such a difficult reach and removal, I did not use the old clamp but rather used a stainless steel screw type clamp. This allowed me to slide the hose back onto the plenum and then reach in with a long screwdriver and tighten the clamp. Also, use a small amount of silcone grease to make the hose slide on easier.
The knob broke-heat fatigue of cheap plastic. It is not available from the dealer. The parts manager and the service writer both said you have to buy a whole new radio. For a 50cent part?
I do have an extended warranty,$100 deductible, but still ridiculous.
All suggestions appreciated.
I got a set of OEM 18 inch alloys from an owner who switched to 20s. I fitted them with Hankook I Pike snow tires. I am going to have to replace my OEM Michelins and thought that since I have winter tires on separate rims that I could get summer tires rather than All Seasons. They are 245/60/18.
Any recommendations will be appreciated. It looks like Tire Rack and a few other suppliers have no dedicated summer tires.
BTW the OEM MIchelins ride like wooden wheels.
I slid A small screwdriver between the blade and the arm, right where the pin is ( look at your new one first ) gave it a slight twist and it popped right off.
NAPA Item# 60-0140 ( $12.11 )
BTW front blades are 60-020-1 9 ( $ 8.63 ) and 60-026-1 ( $ 17.13 )
My Lincoln MKX with AWD has 18 inch rims. Can I put 17 inch rims from a Ford Edge on the vehicle, assuming I use the correct profile tire so that the outside circumference remains the same?
The reason I ask is that the rims have to clear the calipers, and it has been stated in various forums that the brakes on AWD Lincolns and Edges are bigger than the FWD's and that is why all of the AWD's have18's
Just got the vehicle back from the dealer.
They replaced the variable camshaft tensioner phasers,as per a TSB (9-13-10)
They said that if the MKX was not under warranty that the cost would have been over $2000.
