I hear what you're saying. I'm a computer consultant also and I do know that it can be frustrating when dealing with the un-savvy. There has got to be some kind of a <ctrl-alt-delete> for the computer. I wonder if the service techs have been trained on this car.

My Limited is Black. I guess if the chrome snout doesn't set well with me, I could order a Sport grill and not worry about painting it (assuming it will already be black)

I opted for the vision package. BLIS was the reason. The edge is a big vehicle and crossovers are hard to see out of. I wasn't ready to rely on adaptive cruise control. I would rather speed up and go around than to slow down and stay in lane.

LOL that was pretty cheesy. I hope that guy isn't building any of the 2011 models

I'm beginning to wonder if my theory about the build date being on the window sticker is still valid. I see where a KC, KS dealer has a car on the lot and there is no build date on the sticker... Olathe Ford Edge

I think the 7/30/10 date is the date that the order was received at the plant. The portion of the window sticker that has the build date is not included on your example. The top portion is missing. See attached edit--I added a shot of a sticker that has the build date on it. This is strange though. I also clicked links that didn't have dates. I read that the date gets assigned when the factory pulls your order to build

I hadn't noticed that date. Mine says 8/2010. That's when my VIN was assigned. Interesting. The date I saw in the top section was formatted like this...00020100821

I've seen the build date on other window stickers and it was located in the upper left corner. At the end of the big bold line at the top. OAK-000227 KS <<insert date here>> (OAK is the plant) (KS is my state)

My window sticker still doesn't have a date. I was told build is week of sept 6. I have noticed that the sticker updates every time I view it from the web. You'll notice the print date is stamped at the bottom.

I've come across dealer's websites and called them about the 2011 Edge they said they had. They didn't have it. The dealer just filled in the info of what they had on order. Null most likely says they don't have it yet

A week ago I got an update with a VIN and a build date week of 9/6/10. This week, I have a new status. @FordCustService says... your order has been submitted to the assembly plant in Oakville. Does anyone have any idea what this status really means?

It took a few days for my window sticker to show up. @fordcustservice twittered me last thursday to tell me I got a VIN and the build week of sept 6 The window sticker showed up Monday. It doesn't have a build date on it. I wonder when that will get update. My dealer emailed me Monday to tell me I had a VIN but no build date yet

Thanks for the photos Livio, I noticed that most cars had the front license bracket installed. Some of them didn't. I wonder what the criteria is for installing them? Front tags are not required in KS so I hope they don't install the bracket on mine. It screws up the whole front end.

I noticed that Ford has put some new Edge related documentation on their website http://media.ford.com/mini_sites/10031/2011Edge/ Take note of the Fact Sheets section. I was able to confirm that the keypad has not changed. I'll be able to open the locked door by just grabbing the handle (if fob is in pocket)

Last thursday, I got my VIn. This morning, I'm able to download my window sticker! Looks like it will be put on a slow train to KS when it's ready...hoping sometime in Sept. It's starting to feel real!

What grill are you swapping from/to? I was kinda thinking about putting the sport grille on my black limited.

I'm curious, did you try to view your window sticker last week when you got your VIN? If so, was it available to view? I got a VIN today but can't see the sticker on-line yet.

I was just given my VIN but when I use the above link & replace the VIN, the website says it's not in the system. Is there a time lag before this window sticker site gets the info?
