I think it must be near instant. My VIN was invalid until yesterday afternoon. The site shows a software install date of yesterday. Today my Edge has been sent to carrier

I found out from FordCustService via Twitter that my Edge... "...has been received by a carrier at a ramp location." Does that mean it's waiting on the ramp for a slow train ride to KS?

I really like the Sport. I think it looks cool. It was a tough decision for me, but I ordered a Limited. With the limited, I could get the HID lights as well as a tow package. The 22s are sweeet but not very practical for all weather or back road driving. I stuck with the standard 18" wheels thinking that if I wanted bigger shoes, I could always buy them later.

Have you tried signing up on www.SyncMyRide.com? I did when I got my VIN. SyncMyRide told me the VIN was bogus...until this afternoon! The Sync software was installed on my new Edge today and all was good with SyncMyRide. My guess is that mine has been built by now. I'm glad my rail ride is only to KS. I hope to have mine this month.

Thanks for the update. Glad to hear how sweet it is. I think my Edge rolled thru the assembly line today. Hoping I'll see it in Kansas before end of sept.

I'm a Pandora fan and will most likely sign up for the unlimited version soon. Can you control Pandora with voice commands if the phone is connected via BluTooth? I saw the video on FordVehicles.com and it made me think I may have to use USB to connect to phone if i want to use Voice to control Pandora.

It's about 50% larger than my Camry fob. Too bad I don't carry a man purse

Consider Twitter as a way to contact ford. I am very pleased with the folks at @FordCustService. Even though they haven't given me the status I want (shipped), I am still very happy with them. All of our messages are done via private twitter messages

IOh! I still have a use or two for the iPad. Not much of a use to mount it in the Edge though. I get a lot of use out the Pad. The Mac Book Pro has retired to the desk and pretends to be a desktop server.

Ha! To watch NetFlix! Early on, I was thinking it could be used as a great Navigation device. Not much need for it now now that I have ordered the SD voice nav. This 2011 Edge is too cool There's no additional tech required!

I wonder if the hand model had small hands. :-) My current Toyota fob is have the size though.

Take note of the indentation in the center of the dash. Is that about the size of an iPad? It's not a good viewing angle though. Does anyone else have an iPad and thought about taking it with you on a road trip? Where ya going to put it?

I was watching the cool Edge videos on the FordVehicles site and noticed the key fob in a person's hand. It looked HUGE. :o For those that have the sucker in their pocket, is it really as big as it looks?

There was one guy at my dealership that told me he is able to track the exact location of the car once it is on the train. I'm looking forward to buggin that guy in the next couple of weeks

Has anyone used the new my ford with the iPhone iOS4? I've seen where the older ford sync has an issue with indexing the music collection on an iOS4 device. Has anyone seen this in a new Edge?

I'm beginning to wonder if the MyFord Sync has the ability to update over the air or wifi. Wait. That is how they install at the plant. They use wifi. Scott, do you have your edge connected to your home network? Does system get unresponsive when it's downloading a MicroSoft update over your home network? Just a thought.

Does anyone use Pandora radio? I just watched TWIT.tv's Net@Night podcast with the creator of Pandora. He said that the new MyFord will see that you have Pandora installed on your phone. You can then use the voice commands to play Pandora via blutooth. Has anyone tried this ???
