  1. I learned in a chat with the SYNC support that there are NO upgrades for the 11 Edge.
  2. Very good point. I guess the ugly keypad won't help if the battery is dead
  3. I stood on my head and pulled it out and then just put it back in. The fuse is located on the left kickpanel and it is pretty tough to get to (for an old over weight guy like me) The little fuse pulling tool (located in the fuse box cover) is a must
  4. Cool Dreamss! What model of Kia?? It's amazing how nice they look after several drinks! Glad to hear you stuck with the Edge! I've formulated a theory on why some are having issue and some are not. ... Some people don't push the limits of the tech features as hard as others. Those who poke around and try to configure everything (like me) find that they have issues. I also think that my issue are clearing up because the Windows system needed a couple of reboots to finish the install process. So I bet the assembly line install process needs a few more reboots added to the install. Should the first mod/hack be a "reboot" button on fuse 29?? also, the Microsoft Touch system is not all that iPhone friendly When do you get your Edge Dreamss??
  5. Where the heck do I use that old fashion key that I pull out of the fob?? Are there key holes in the doors? I never paid attention to that. also On my hybrid Camry, If the fob battery died, I would need to hold the fob next to the start button for it to let me start the car. On the Edge, I need to hold the fob in the console??
  6. My iPhone connects OK as a phone but the iPhone doesn't realize it has an audio connection. That's why I have to go into the iPhone settings to click on the SYNC bluetooth connection. If you have bluetooth audio connected, you will see a Bluetooth icon on the right side of the volume slider of the itunes (or other) app.
  7. I noticed this problem also. Since rebooting (fuse 29) a couple of times, it has cleared up.
  8. On the iPhone Settings/ General/ Bluetooth, I click on SYNC and it reconnects to the Ford. I then select BT Audio on the My Touch screen and it works. You may need to tell the My Touch to connect a couple of times. I've come to the conclusion that this system in the Edge is Windows and it should have been rebooted a few times during production. I know that when I mess with BlueTooth on a pc, I usually have to reboot a couple of times before things work as they should. By pulling fuse 29, you are rebooting the system. Since my system has rebooted a few times, it works MUCH BETTER. That said, my iPhone 4 is still kinda stupid. I listen to podcasts while working out and would like to continue listening when I get in the car. Many times I need to go into the iPhone settings and tap on the SYNC in the Bluetooth menu.
  9. One other note: I'm watching Cnet Brian Cooley review the cadilac cts coupe. He's having more trouble with its cabin tech than I've had with my edge. Also consider that this forum is most likely not a complete cross section of Edge owners. You're going to get posts from people who only report the bad stuff.
  10. Not sure if it will make you feel any better but I have noticed that the car is acting better for me. I only pulled the fuse for the MyTouch once (it rebooted twice on it's own) the first week of ownership. I think what confuses it is when I was initially playing with all of the settings. Now that I have stuff set the way I want it, it acts much better. I think most of BT Audio issues is iPhone. The system is slow, especially when first starting up. Sometimes there is a slight lag in some features. I think this is due to all the connections it's trying to make as soon as I start up. Yes. It does need help and I hope a software update will come soon.
  11. They may be hardwired but I think there is some kind of intelligence as to how much power flows though the hardwire. They say the voltage is decreased if the engine isn't running. Regardless, various devices will not notice this. My old TomTom would shut down when I stopped my previous cars and boot-up when I started. It's hard to say what the TomTom will do with this car (unless I dig it out of the closet and give it a try). I wonder if it will stay on for a few hours and the Edge will finally shut it down.
  12. I called my dealership to ask about activating the DRLs. They didn't know for sure if they could do it but were willing to try. If they are successful then they would charge me 49$. No charge if that can't figure it out. I just might do it when I get a chance
  13. I can't seem to locate it in the manual now but I recall seeing something about the intelligent power and how the Edge will make sure the battery isn't drained if lights were left on. I wonder if this includes accessories plugged into power points.
  14. ! Your'e right! When I first saw the Edge at an auto show this spring I said that the LEDs reminded me of the LED lights in my new fridge.
  15. How have you tested this? Have you opened the doors after you shut the car off? The manual says... Accessory delay With accessory delay, the audio system, power windows and moon roof (if equipped) operate for up to 10 minutes after the ignition is turned off or until either front door is opened
  16. Are the LEDs on as well as the 80% headlights?
  17. You are right. What fooled me is that they do come on when I open the door.
  18. Turns out that those lights are NOT on while driving in the day time. They come on when I open the door to get out and look.
  19. Here is a portion of the manual...(p87)... To have full capacity usage of your power point, the engine is required to be running to avoid unintentional discharge of the battery. To prevent the battery from being discharged: • do not use the power point longer than necessary when the engine is not running, • do not leave battery chargers, video game adapters, computers and other devices plugged in overnight or when the vehicle is parked for extended periods.
  20. Lol...BCM4325D1 26 MHz Class 1.5 for Apollo2 board What is with that???
  21. With the winter coming, I am wondering how all my new car care products will fair in my unheated shed. Will zero degree temps harm my various products? Should I store my products in a heated place?
  22. It's done. I sprung for the Porter Cable 7424XP 4" Basic Kit Detailed Image threw in a Sheepskin Mitt as the daily special. Are there any handy videos on line that will help me with the process of polishing? Every little bit of info helps. EDIT: I just searched YouTube for Porter Cable 7424 and came up with all kinds of videos
  23. I was planning on doing everything by hand. Is that OK? Will I be wishing I had gotten a buffer?
  24. Wow. I'm surprised the dealership even entertained that kind of deal. seems kinda shady to me. I would be looking for a more reputable dealership Good Luck
