Well. I'm feeling the "grandad" now! I just spent 4 hrs polishing my black beast and boy o boy , I'm pooped! Everything went well and the car looks great. The sealant ain't happening till tomorrow though. I had to stop for "miller time"

I grew up in the days of B&W TVs that had actual knobs that you had to turn to get one of 13 channels. Sometimes you had to adjust the vertical hold to keep the picture from scrolling up. I wish I had that vertical hold knob today when backup camera started scrolling up. It corrected itself after I turned off the car and restarted. That's twice this has happened.

The battery saver feature that I had been referring to kicked in for me today. I had the acc on and playing the radio. The radio stop and a message displayed saying Batter Saver - System off Please turn ignition off and start the engine. I know this is not one of the 12volt sockets but it is what I was referring to.

Not to "dis" the MKX but I think that gold dash trim is pretty cheesy. I like the Edge dash much better

Well Well Well. How can I get my hands on this. My guess if it is available on the market, it would be expensive. I would need the dealy wop that connects to the car/laptop plus the software (my guess it's windows only) I wonder how I can locate someone with this ability.

I must admit that the Sirius ALERT feature is real cool. as well as the replay buffer. Replay is something I have always wished I had (You kinda get used to it when you watch your DVR)

I have noticed that when I am playing HD fm stations, the audio repeats. At first I thought it was the one station but I have since had this happen on a few stations. The audio would be playing along then at random times start playing the audio from a couple of minutes earlier. It's like I was hitting a replay button. Has anyone else noticed anything like this? and, Is it true that HD radio is only available in the states?

Good point! Is it the dealer's software that is limiting???

Thanks Canuck and choff! Life is a wonderful thing, isn't it? But but why not go through life with a cool detailed car?!?! I actually think that the detailing will help me pass the time while Bri and baby Nick are in the hospital. I've already got the car seat ready for my grand dad duties. He'll be riding in style!

I was going to say the same thing Not much happens till I get to star bucks drive thru! I wonder if the wifi hotspot has anything to do with anything. Beach, have you by chance connected your edge to Starbucks? I know it's a stretch but what the heck. Do you have wifi at home? Have you connected to it?

Have you seen the wood in person? I am pleased with mine. They are dull and dark. Very classy. Unlike stuff I've seen in the past.

It was funny when I was canceling my xm subscription. They kept offering me discounts to xm. I said my new car has sirrius. Can you give me a discount to it? "no but we have xm devices you can plug into your car" WTF!?!? (edge has no aux connection btw) Aren't they the same company or not??? The deal was a half price deal so before you cancel, try getting a deal. They can do it.

I cancelled my xm when I knew I was getting the edge. I didn't miss it too much. It got to be too filled with ads. 1-800 this 1-800 that. I plan on relying on streaming pandora from my iPhone 4 Or my attached iPod gen 5 when all else fails It's nice to have options

Oh god! now my feat are held to fire! I've been holding off on any pics because I have been ashamed of the unfinished state of my Edge. I hope to be proud when I'm done. I'll be using a friend's garage and and taking breaks to visit my NEW GRANDSON!! (born last night. My daughter and grandson are doing well). :happy feet: I may have to work on my priorities...But I have a 3 day weekend to do it.

Nice review. Thanks I was thinking about some kind of shield to decrease the glare and finger prints. I had a film on my Camry's screen and loved it. You say this one is glossy. Does it help to cut the glare when the sun is shining on it? I looked on the website but didn't see a 2011 Edge option. can you provide the part number that you purchased?

I think I have everything I need to DO my car. It's going to be a beautiful weekend and perfect for the detail. White or Black lake country pads?? I've got a White Pad (I think it was a freebie from Detailed Image) and a few Black pads. Which one should I use to polish (with porter cable)? How about the sealant. Would you apply sealant with the Porter Cable or by hand? Also, I got a free 6" red finishing pad with one of my AutoGeek orders. EDIT: I think I found an answer to one of my questions. The black ones are for Menzerna PO85RD (that's what I got) and the white ones are for Menzerna PO106FF Are pad colors standard in the detailing industry?

OOOOH that thing. I had asked about that a few weeks ago. I couldn't figure out what it was. I'm using to stuff my extra usb cable into it.

Mine shows I have one to install also. I was able to put it onto the usb stick, plug it into the car and tell it to install. It looked like it was installing something. I wasn't able to upload results though. That's when I started the chat session and learned there were no updates. not confusing....IS IT??

I went to the dealer and watched them while they looked through the options on the laptop while it was hooked to my car. No option for turning on DRLs Bummer.

I looked and felt around in the console but don't see anything. Where is it?? AND is it an ignition switch that I put the key into?
