I noticed just now that when I turned off the car then opened the door, all of my displays turned off. -

As we call it in the software development world...it's an "Undocumented Feature" I think we've found several "Undocumented Features" in the MyTouch -
The button only drops the seats.

Try the syncmyride site again. I noticed yesterday that they have a new app to install. It's not an update but it does allow for you to upload the status when you are done. -
Have you got a VIN yet??

Why don't the 12V PowerPoints turn off?
wilsons66604 replied to SonarTech's topic in 2011 Edge & MKX
that is too funny! By chance...are you a mytouch engineer? -
My Edge has power folding seats. Isn't collision alert a part of adaptive cruise control on the Edge?

I was able to load the status checker and then upload the info to SyncMyRide. This is the first time I've been able to upload results. I did get this message after my status upload... Congratulations! Important step if you installed the Traffic, Directions & Information Update You must activate Traffic, Directions and Information in your account before you connect to the service in your vehicle. We’ll walk you through the activation steps, and you can return at any time to create address points and personalize traffic alerts. Be sure you have the number of the mobile phone you’ll be using to connect to the service, and select that number as the Active phone when you activate the service.

I just got my DayVue film and rushed to install it while the sun was still shining. I've installed film on all kinds of devices and was happy that this Installation was VERY simple and easy compared to others. I cleaned my screen, used a piece of packing tape to peel the clear backing off and laid the film in place. The 174x104 size was perfect. Just enough gap around the edges. When trying to peel off the pink protective film on the front (I stuck packing tape to the pink film to help in peeling it off), I ended up pulling the DayVue film off my Touch screen. No problem putting it back on, just be careful to hold the film in place while peeling off the protective pink film. That's it. It took me all of 30 seconds to install. While I haven't had much time to use it, I have determined that fingerprints are hard to come by, colors are more vibrant, and the glare is decreased quite a bit. I think everyone will be happy with the results. I am! Check out my before and after pics

I just noticed on SyncMyRide that they have changed my update area. it nows has this... Sync Status Checker Version 1.3 We need to confirm your current version of Sync. Please download and run the Sync Status Checker. The Sync Status Checker will verify what version of Sync is currently installed in your vehicle. BT4T-14D546-EB I'll do this when I get home

HA! Who tested the first version?? I think we are the testers! But in Ford's defense, they had to get the car to market. We got what they had. I'm really hoping it's a major software upgrade and fixes all of the issues I've been having.

I've got the Edge Limited. It's my understanding that seats have the cooling feature so the leather will be perforated. That's the extent of my knowledge on the subject.

Why don't the 12V PowerPoints turn off?

I hear ya! BUT we shouldn't have to reboot...period! Does FORD listen to these forums?? EDIT: They should be listening? -
Does Ford know when I pour synthetic vs regular oil down it's gullet?? Synthetic usually last a longer.

Hey Waldo. Sounds like you know something about the wiring in a car. I wonder if you might be able to direct me to a solution for the fuse 29 feature. I've had to pull 29 3 times now (make that 4 if my backup camera is still doing a vertical scroll tomorrow) The last time, i dropped the fuse behind the kick panel and had to go fishing for it. Do you know of any device that can be plugged into 29 and allow me to simulate the pulling of the fuse? Ala a "touch reboot" switch. -
Imsawma review of a new Lexus this weekend. To my surprise, it had the same dash (right side) as the Edge limited. One horizontal strip of dull wood.

Only if the bolt cutters can handle HARD wires! -
Good question. I had heard that the GraceNote DB was on the SD card. I have Nav. GraceNote did give me some cover art but not all. Anyone have an answer? Where is the GraceNote database and how can we update it?
-
I wondered the same thing. Turns out you need to be using GraceNote. I tried the GraceNote option and found that it sucked. It couldn't find hardly any of my music's cover art. I have never seen the cover flow though. The Touch manual says... Gracenote Cover Art on/off: When turned on, this feature will pull in cover art from the Gracenote Database for your music files. This will override any art from your device. This feature defaults to off. To view your album art in a 3D carousel: Press Browse > Music > Albums > Cover Art. If the Gracenote cover art feature (covered in the previous section) is turned on, you will be able to touch and drag the screen with your finger to view your album art. Tap on an album to select.

Oh ya. I forgot about the power lift gate. I guess I've found a reason to use the tow package. Now all I need is a trailer! (Nick is staying a few extra days in the hospital. he was a couple of weeks premature. Nothing serious. I sure wish he was home though)

Has anyone tried to haul a 4x8 sheet of anything in your Edge? I 'm thinking I MAY be able to slide a sheet in diagonally and let it hang out the rear. Has anyone else tried??? If I trim the sheet to 44" then it's not much of an issue ...other than the 8' part.

Posting the link to your Mobile Me is good. The only other way to post pictures is to upload them from your drive. I have shared Mobile Me links as well as TwitPics via a link like you have posted. It's all good. I really like your Blue Edge and wish my dealer had cleaned up my Black Edge as good as yours! I can really appreciate a detailed car now...after spending all weekend detailing my own. You'll love your Edge...Just learn to be patient with the Dash Tech.

There is a "delay" setting for the backup camera that let's it stay on for a while -

Yep. I did think ahead and got a halogen light setup like the one you pictured. The creeper seat would have been a big help. Not having it on day one took it's toll! I think I will go ahead and apply coat 2 of power lock tomorrow. It will be easier by hand. Of course it was very nice to be able to borrow a friends garage. -

A few more hours to apply the sealant today and now I'm ready for winter! Here are some pictures This Ford paint is WILD! I did learn a few things this weekend....Detailing ain't easy! I'm glad I had good lighting where I could move around and see how I was doing. A stool would have been handy. Day 2, I ended up using a 5 gal bucket to sit on while doing the door panels. As I applied the sealant, i needed to put less and less on the pad. Too much sealant just makes it too hard to wipe off. I'm not totally done detailing things like wheels and plastic trim but I'm at least ready for Winter. Oh. Many thanks to Canuck for all the great info shared. I had no idea how I was screwing up all my previous cars.
