I noticed a Scion XB today and I think they may have borrowed the Edge design...or is it the other way around? Notice any similarities?
-
Did you upgrade your 3gs to the iOS4 software? What problems did you have with Pandora? I have no issues with Pandora IF I get the BT audio to work
-
I thought it was strange that many people have problems with the new Sync/Touch in the 11 Edge while others have no problems. Is the most stable Sync/Touch environment one that uses phone X ?? Is the most stable Sync the one that doesn't use BT Audio. If you have NO problems please post what features you use.

I had the clock go off by an hour twice (that I noticed) Once it was not set to Day Light Savings when it should have. Another time it corrected it self when I went into the settings menu. My clock is set to sync with GPS...Is yours? Today, the time was correctly showing that DST was over.

2011 Edge Ltd + iPhone4 USB Audio "pops"
wilsons66604 replied to FirstReflect's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
I don't have the popping issue in mine. I use an old iPod with USB though. My iPhone uses BT (If it works) Have you tried another USB cable? I have noticed that the Touch system degrades as time goes on. Eventually I have to pull fuse 29 to reboot it. -
Curly, Why are you having so much luck?!? Are you using BT or USB Audio? What Phone do you have?
-
Well, I was going to say that not all USB drive work for me, but it looks like you figured that part out. I think this MySync download application is temperamental . I would have thought if you got past the download that you could have uploaded. Can you try another trype of browser? Are you using Mac or PC? I tested install again today hoping that the install would reboot the Touch but it didn't. I guess I'll have to keep pulling fuse 29 on a regular basis.

That's what mine did the other day. It rebooted twice

Everyday it's some new problem. Today, Touch quite communicating to my USB iPod. It has worked flawlessly since day one. I got the USB working again only to have Touch not able to find my phone on my next outing. WTF I'm not BITCHING. I'm just stating the facts

This is what I was trying to get at. The general public sees the ads, test drives the car, & buys it because it is a sweet ride. Only after a few weeks of using the system do you really find out how many bugs it has. I've had mine 2 months and I'm still coming across new bugs. If Ford let people test drive the car for 2 months, it would be a different story. The public assumes that if Ford or Lincoln are selling a car, it's going to function without bugs. UPDATE: You can't deny that Touch has issues. Heres a link to a owner's post who's Touch system went belly up several weeks after taking delivery. No test drive would have caught that feature. Just yesterday, mine went black for several minutes while driving to work. That "feature" was not documented to me. Most Edge/MKX owners have a legitimate right to complain and be upset.

Ya know, several people are OK with the way the Touch system works now. I guess they don't try all the features. Here is an interesting thread on my thoughts about this issue

Do you recall the AWD debate here a few months ago? Aren't you glad you went with AWD? So, the snow builds up in front of the antenna. That's aerodynamics for ya

It's not so easy to put stuff down the opening Read this article With Easy Fuel, the spring-loaded flapper door is held closed by two latches that can only be released by a standard-size unleaded fuel nozzle. When the proper nozzle is inserted into the filler neck of the system, the latches release, and the nozzle pushes the spring-loaded flapper door to the open position. When the nozzle is removed, the flapper door automatically is forced closed by the spring.

Ask A Professional Detailer?

Good for you bman! I do use a small ladder to get the roof. It's the only way. I purchased one of those waffle towels and used it last week when doing a no rinse wash. It would have been nice to have a second one. The 2nd towel is in the mail (with dodo wax) from eShine -
You'll need a big piece of tape to cover the 4" display on the left of the cluster. Here is a post from revOevoM that will shed a little light http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/5420-now-that-its-here-trick-or-quirks-you-are-finding/page__view__findpost__p__46286

The new Edge doesn't do DVDs. It will display the video from a source plugged int the RCA jacks in the console

I spoke too soon. Touch is back to it's wacky ways again. In addition to that, Touch rebooted it's self while driving to work today. It was messed up when the reboot finished. It couldn't connect to my phone and the Touch screen locked up. The 4" screen was confused. Attached is a pic of the Phone menu surrounded with the navigation. After backing into my parking space without the camera (I really rely on that thing) I turned the car off and got out. Touch was still glowing but it finally rebooted again. This time it found my phone.

I hear that Choff!. I'd like to watch the idiot that tries to siphon gas from the new Edge. Have you seen the special funnel you need to use to fill the car from a gas can? I think Ford gave this more that just a little thought

Collision Avoidance Sensor Blocked message
wilsons66604 replied to carfaninpa's topic in 2011 Edge & MKX
Wow! I hope they can get this automated safety feature figured out. I could live with the pain in the ass of BT Audio not working but this is a bit more vital. At least it tells you that it's stupid! -
Contact photos aren't supported with all (most) phones. This version of Touch will always default to the standard home screen. You will always have to select the wallpaper view by hitting the home button twice. I'm hoping the next version will retain the view you prefer.

OK...It's been two days since I've had to pull my iPhone 4 out of my pocket and toggle the BT! Here's what I did... I paired an old BlackBerry as a second device. Removed the BB from the car. Now when I start the car, the BT Audio doesn't automatically connect to anything. I click on the tab and Touch attempts to connect to the BlackBerry and fails. I click on the tab again (a 3rd click is needed sometimes), and Touch connects to the iPhone and the iPhone realizes it and starts streaming audio! This isn't ideal but it beats having to fiddle with the phone.

Extended warranty??? I've never made it to the end of the factory warranty!! The way the tech is now, there is always a cooler car beckoning me.

Now that it's here - Trick or quirks you are finding
wilsons66604 replied to choff1138's topic in 2011 Edge & MKX
Not sure what I'm doing right but I've only set off the flashers once. I do tend to rest my fingers on the ledge in front of the touch screen. is that the trick? -
I think everyone has missed this new feature ! Our new Edge has an intelligent Oil life monitor. Depending on the usage (highway/city) the intervals will vary. The manual says: For your convenience, your vehicle is equipped with a message center which determines the proper oil change service interval. You should perform the engine oil change as indicated by the message center. The message center will display ENGINE OIL CHANGE SOON or OIL CHANGE REQUIRED to indicate when an oil change is needed. The engine oil change service needs to be completed within two weeks or 500 miles (800 km) after the OIL CHANGE REQUIRED message is displayed. Your oil change service interval can be up to one year or 10,000 miles (16,000 km). Reset your Intelligent Oil Life Monitorâ„¢ after each engine oil and filter change; refer to the Instrument Cluster chapter.
