Just a few minutes into the program and I can understand why I decided to buy Ford. This may explain why I am SO FRUSTRATED with quality of of My Ford Touch. Touch is not living up to the standards I would expect from a first class company like Ford.

From what my service tech told me, he says that the updates that require them to do are MAJOR updates. Us users only get to update the small stuff. I also had high hopes for 4.2 this friday but after reading the MacRumor forums, the iPhone 4.2 beta testers said it didn't fix anything on the Fords. I didn't see any complaints where is created problems.

Search the forum and you may find what I saw a while back. You can get the programmer for little money and do that part yourself. $20 comes to mind.

gracenote is LAME. It can't find artwork for fairly new stuff like Brooks & Dunn but it knows who Ten Years After is (an awesome group from the late 60's man) ! The carousel is lame too. It's buried 30 levels deep and you have to be in park to use it. It's there just so they can use it in marketing videos

Now that you mention changing the USB stuff around, I realize that I've had this iPod plugged into the same USB port since day one. It's worked fine most of the time. I wonder if my Touch would act any better if I unplugged my iPod. I'm wishing. I have noticed the longer I've had the Edge, the more frequent the Touch reboots. Today I unpaired / re-paired my iPone cuz BT Audio would not connect. That fixed the connect and a minute later I had Touch rebooting. BT Audio worked as designed for about 3 stop/starts then it was back to it's old shit. I know there may be issues with iPhone but I'm pretty sure Touch is one major issue I got the impression the dealership doesn't want anything to do with the "new sync" and

So did you get an update? What's the installation history say on SyncMyRide. Having to pay for any of this is insane. Tell them you are going to the other dealership in the next town. Someone had a good idea to get around the idiots that want to charge you. Complain about the issues you are having and you need them fixed.THEN mention the update that is supposed to fix this stuff.

It's not really about being obsessive. It's about having the knowledge. My previous cars looked like crap because I had no idea what neglect, automated car washes, and the kid at the dealership were doing to my paint finish. Now with the knowledge I've gained here, I can pick and choose how I care for my car. I'm aware now that if I have a good finish on my car, the maintenance of the finish is a bunch easier.

Any reply from your dealer yet? I called my dealer's parts department and he didn't even bother to look them up. He told me they weren't available until next year. However, I have no trust in anything anyone at my dealership tells me.

I wonder why Sync would post something and then pull it. Did they post the update before testing it? Na. They test everything before releasing....right? and on that note...WHO IS Sync? Microsoft, Ford or what? Let's hope the fix is right when they release it again

Checked MyFordSync tonight to find that the update is no longer listed. Looks like they pulled it.

EDIT: Thanks Choff for the great detective work. It's good to hear that there was a note listing the issues. There is no clear way of reporting these issues. I wonder if anyone is monitoring this forum. If not, then they should be.
