You are correct about the PC's USB ports but wrong about the 2011 Edge's ports. Careful. I think the 2011 Edge has a few features that were not available in years past.

I haven't given this any thought before. I plugged my old iPod gen 5 into the USB port of my new 2011 Edge and haven't looked at it since. It's always worked. I just went out and took a look at it. It's fully charged. When I start the car the iPod starts charging. the iPod continues to charge even when the radio is off. This is an old iPod gen 5 so not sure how the touch would act.

I took a drive to Kansas City last night and I was surprised when the nav unit warned me about a traffic delay and offered to re-route me. I was skeptical because I had forgot about the Sirius Travel link feature (and was this info reliable). I chose to ignore the warning and stay on course. A few minutes later, I was stuck in a 45 minute stop, stop, & go traffic jam. I'm a believer now! This is a very cool feature. I may opt to keep the Sirius now.

For the past few years, I've been alpha/beta testing the Boxee software. It's had more than it's share of problems. Boxee always kept the testers updated with status of issues & resolutions. Now that the Boxee Box is out, people are still reporting bugs on their forum. Boxee support is managing the customer's expectations the way I think Ford should be doing. They have a forum outlining the issues and they list the planned resolution with a time frame. I haven't noticed it on the 2011 Edge (but I never really looked) I did input coordinates into Google Maps then sent it to my car via Sync.

I'm with you. I'll believe it when I see it. There has been no confirmation of the new software be installed yet. One person said the dealer installed it but we haven't gotten confirmation of the version that is installed. I wish people wouldn't spread rumors. If I get the new software Monday, I'll post a screen shot of my installed software version.

It won't hurt to have the dealer look at it while you are there. The roof is not new to the 2011 so the dealership may have heard of this before.

I've had above freezing weather (even a few weeks where I was able to drive with it wide open) in KS and I haven't noticed my BAMR squeaking.

I sure hope that is the case! I'm scheduled to take mine in Monday for an issue with my seat. It would great if I was able to get the software update too. iOS 4.2 should be out next week also. Are the planets coming into alignment??

Standard MP3 artwork displays when a song is played. To get the snazzy (useless) carousel to work, You have to use the system's GraceNote (limited) artwork database. Then browse albums while in park. Pretty lame

So they needed the cable to install the software. My sticker never had a "Sold To" but it did have my name listed under price information as TAG 000x000 s wilson I've also noticed that is not on every sticker I've seen. I was thinking this was kind of a PO number that the dealership added to the order

I had to pull fuse 29 again today and of course it dropped into the abyss behind the kick panel / floor. I went after it but couldn't find it. I decided to look for another fuse that I could rob so i could get touch running again. After studying the manual, I see that there are spares plugged into spaces in the panel. Thanks to Fuse 5 for coming to the rescue! (damn! Why do I have to resort to this on a brand new car)

I don't ignore customer's issues. My customers would go elsewhere if I ignore them. If I had a list of 1500 problems and couldn't get them fixed in a timely manner, I would try to stop the bleeding and let the support staff know what the hell was going on so they can inform the complaining customers. Getting a DUH response from support helps no one and pisses of the customer.

You have two buttons on each headrest? I have only one that I can see The manual says... To remove the adjustable head restraint, do the following: 1. Pull up the head restraint until it reaches the highest adjustment position. 2. Simultaneously press and hold both the adjust/release button (3) and the unlock/remove button (4), then pull up on the head restraint.

I tried today and no luck. Is there a hidden release somewhere? I noticed a small hole in the base without the button. Do I need to jab something in there? Did I see someone mention that you had to press both buttons? I have only one.

I took mine into the dealer and they ended up ordering a new module for the seat. I'm scheduled to go in this next Monday to have it installed. Hope it works.

Well put. All I got out of Sync Support was that I have the latest version and I should reset Touch to factory defaults. BS Sync acts like they have no clue!

Yep, we got bugs. That's true. I do like the built in Nav system though. I had questioned why I opted for it but have learned to really like it. Mine works fine. I get the speed limit signs on the 4" display. When low on gas, the gas station POIs display on the nav screen automatically. It integrates with all the sync services (google maps for one). Plus the voice integration and at some point, the address book integration.

Hell, how about a Touch option to keep the wallpaper as the default view.
