  3. I always lock my car with the bump on the outside handle. Most of my issues are with BT Audio then a few brain dead episodes and impromptu reboots
  4. I'm glad that there is now some kind of official acknowledgment for these issues. How did you hear about this ? Is there someplace where we can see the TSB?
  5. I hear ya! More often than not, I've had problems getting Services voice understand me saying "YES". It asks me if I want to download the Google Maps destination then goes totally deaf.
  6. 8GB is most likely more that you will ever need. The updates that we will be getting are only for portions of the Sync system that they trust us with. The big updates are dealer installed.
  7. WoW! A whole new system. I'm jealous. Remind us (me)...... was your system totally brain dead or just acting up? Is it coming?? A recall to upgrade to a "more better" system ?!? I just wish they would keep us owners informed.
  8. I had WeatherTechs in a previous car. I didn't like the hard plastic material. For the amount of snow I get in Kansas, I didn't really need the hardcore WeatherTechs. I like the rubber ford mats and the fact that the driver side does cover the left foot rest (unlike the factory carpeted mats)
  9. Yikes!! Welcome back to the thread Canuck! Any thoughts on the your new Edge's paint finish? I was really pleased with my Black. It's loaded with so much flake, it looks almost dusty at times.
  10. There's a stack of buttons on the right side of screen. (see photo) Tune to your station then hold your finger on a desired button to set it. I think the tameejean had the Direct Tune screen selected and was holding down the number keys.
  11. Let me start this rumor now.... Ford will soon announce an across the board recall to have our systems upgraded to the new 1 ghz model. This will help to speed up the stupid Flash animations on the menus. Whoo Hoo. We'll have the same POS software, just running faster.
  12. This totally sucks. I read somewhere that the service techs were instructed to not try to update the software yet. Updates may "brick" the systems. I wonder if that is what happened to yours. It all seems like some service techs are not well versed on the new Touch system. This post may interest you... Major Defect
  13. The post was about a 2010. OH WAIT! This is the 2010 forum!! I never had any issue with capless system (and I've had my share of refills). It's a kinda a no brainer.
  14. Great explanations all. Just do AUTO and have trust in it. There may be a time when heavy breathing will require a hit of the defrost button but just remember to go back to auto when you've calmed down. (also note that defrost often turns the AC on to help in the removal of excessive moisture)

  16. Good idea. Ford should provide two branded unlocked smart phones with the vehicle. There are different Blue Tooth features (protocols). Not all phones implement all the features. The audible SMS and contact photos require the MAP feature. My iPhone doesn't have it but the Windows Phone 7 that I tested did.
  17. Have you checked SyncMyRide for the install history/version? I would bet that you didn't get the update. The tech may have just re-installed the old version.
  18. I got that screen this past weekend when I was testing the Windows Phone 7 and iPhone 4.2.1 I thought it was the Windows Phone that did it. It went back to normal screen when I made the iPhone my favorite. I haven't seen that screen since.
  19. Having a VIN doesn't mean it's built. My guess is that the 11/19/10 date may be when the plant planned on starting the build. It's hard to say though. Take your VIN and sign up on the SyncMyRide website. You can see the history of the installed Sync software. If Sync is installed, you the car has been built.

  21. You might try doing a soft reset on iPhone by holding power and home buttons until it shuts down. Remove the device from Sync, and remove Sync from the iPhone. Now pair the two again. Hopefully that will help for a while.

  23. To date, there has been no real reports of anyone getting the DRLs activated in the US. My dealer showed me the options they had to modify and there was no DRL option. Where are these elusive software fixes? Could it be that the 2011 Edge is a bit different than the 2007 Edge?
