  1. The automated reboot is a band-aid fix to a problem Ford can't seem to get a handle on. I suggested 6 months ago that Touch was poorly programmed and they were not handling memory like they should. The Touch system goes brain dead because it runs low on resources. A pull of Fuse 29 cleaned it up. Now Ford has inserted a scheduled reboot into the system. Too bad my system goes stupid before it hit's the scheduled reboot. Ford needs to bite the bullet, scrap this POS and get some real programmers on staff to create a real system.
  2. Good point! Sync and Touch are two separate systems
  3. Ya. right. That's what they've been saying for 6 months. I'll believe it when I see it.
  4. Well, you know, the website is..."performing scheduled maintenance"
  5. I had a few day last fall at 106 and no problems Well, no more than usual.
  6. Blis works great for cars as well as pedestrians in a parking lot.
  7. Ford does have the power to require the service department to be knowledgeable with Touch systems. If the tech can't pass a test then pull the dealership's access to the Oasis system. Of course this would not be such a big issue if Ford designed the system so the idiots could update it without bricking it.
  8. Only 80% would recommend? That's not very high when you think of it. That tells me that 20% are not satisfied...That's a big number!
  9. BLIS is more that the little light in the side mirrors. There is cross traffic alert also. It's pretty cool. Watch the video on http://www.ford.com/crossovers/edge/
  10. The touch system has MANY issues. The biggest issue is the support network. I'm somewhat pleased that my dealership has a tech with brains and can update Touch without bricking it.
  11. Great news! Keep us posted. Are you plugging in USB devices or using Blue Tooth?
  12. Good article. they say that the reboot is scheduled after 24hrs of driving. Too bad the problems start popping up after about 5hrs of driving. Oh, and those steps to reset to factory defaults don't help most of the time. It just clears out my settings. The best rest is a fuse 29 pull.
  13. In fairness to Ford... I've jumped on every update and waisted boo coo hours in the service department. I still have the same basic issues as I had from day one over 6 months ago. The Touch system is a joke. Now I'm concerned that I will not be able to sell the car because it has Touch in it.
  14. Agreed! I got the letter to go in and have the update to 2.7. I wonder why they asked me to come in and waste my time on an update. I don't see where it helped a damn thing. BT Audio is still just as fickle as ever. USB not always connecting....so on so forth. For the past 6 months, I've tried to stay optimistic but is really hard. Oh, and where is the crap they announced 14 months ago as "late availability" ?
  15. If you adjust your mirrors like Click & Clack the Tappit Brothers suggest, you'll find that you really don't need the spot mirrors. The idea is to adjust them outward so you don't see your own car in the mirror. It works for me.
  16. It was bound to happen... Sync would not recognize USB2 this morning or connect to BT Audio. I stopped the car, turned off the ignition and opened the door. Started the car and BT Audio was back but still no USB2. I wonder what these update are doing. I would think that they would be able to get the basics working by now. I wonder if I ought to request a new APIM cuz my system has been nothing but flaky since day 1 (6 mo ago)
  17. I don't notice anything major in 2.7 The buttons to the heated seats (and others) may be a bit more responsive. BT Audio works better. On 3/24 Mine was updated and the history shows the process (see attached)
  18. I noticed after my update to 2.7 that the filed of view was much wider on the backup camera. If you can get your dealer to install 2.7, it may resolve your issue. Have you ever pulled fuse 29? I wonder if that would help.
  19. If you look at the history, you should see what the dealer was doing (if anything) on the date you took the car in.... click on "View confirmed installs" then "view your Sync history"
  20. Update your sync software. Camera has had several fixes since I got my edge 6 mo ago UPDATE: The guidelines are turned on/off via the touch menu. also... Since I updated to ver 2.7, I've noticed that the camera has a wider angle of view. It now shows a portion of the license tag.
  21. Subscription to my Sirius radio didn't get renewed this month. No need for the overpriced, ad ladened radio now that I have Bluetooth audio source in my pocket.
  22. Calendar and clock work! I had to tell it that we were in that stupid daylight savings crap though. The system seems to retain the last used audio source now. Before, it was a crap shoot on what I got. AM or Sirius or USB...throw the dice!
  23. I had the 2.7 update performed today. The work order calls it Recall and it was a complete reflash. I need to have more time with it before I come to any conclusions. When I took the car in, it was refusing to connect to my iPhone and I refused to pull 29 again. So far, it's working pretty good. Connection to phone seems quicker. I read where one owner seemed to think that 2.7 wasn't that much better but it did seem to reboot on it's own more often. As if it now realizes it's going stupid and reboots to clear the memory. I can live with that if it means I don't have to pull the fuse anymore
  24. Do you have a TSB number? My dealer found no TSBs and my car had no stored codes. The tech did a 14 mile joy ride and found no problems...so nothing was done today (except the 2.7 update)
