I would check the install history page on sync my ride. You should see the history of the dealership installing the software. I wonder if they even attempted to install.

Been using MFT for 11 months. I have a freaky feeling that I will be in a wreck soon. (that sucks) At times I think it's safer to text while driving than to use MyFordTouch. Give me iDrive please!!!

Has anyone finally figured out how to tweak/hack/modify the Touch system to WORK??

As a user of the 2011 Edge, I've noticed that the doors do lock at speed and when i stop and place in park the doors don't appear to unlock. I'm not sure what happens if I stop at my girl friend's house and honk after putting in Park. I always get out then Yell for her! This '11 Edge has some complicated logic!

Go for it! It's fun and you'll appreciate your ride even more. I got my Edge last fall and the first thing I did was clay bar, polish, then seal. I had never attempted to polish a car before cuz I was afraid I would burn the paint off (I used to be a pipefitter that used a side-grinder to grind welds. That's not anything like a orbital buffer). ThePorter Cable orbital buffer made it easy. At no point was I afraid I was going to damage the paint. I got a great finish and have been taking care of it since. I'm over due for another polish but ...it's 115 freakin degrees!!! I'll wait for fall.

Blue sounds good and I think it would look good too. UPDATE: If I'm spending the $$$ for pin-striping, I would select a contrasting color. Show it off. How about Blue with a another color to accent the Blue?? They could have but why make an extra step to always have to toggle between the two. I like the way they are laid out and I've never hit them by mistake while turning the steering wheel. I don't see how they can get in the way.

Dodo Juice makes several flavors of carnauba waxes. You pick the flavor based on the color of your paint. For dark paint, there is "Purple Haze" or "Blue Velvet"

I recall a news segment early 2010. They were at the New York auto show and some organization voted the 2011 Edge as the most dog friendly vehicle. My Edge didn't work so well for my 220# Mastiff. He wasn't very agile and didn't like to use a ramp.

Don't forget to allow for the reclining back seats.

Good idea to take it to another dealership. All you can do is have them update the software. The software is still buggy but it gets better with every update. If they know what they are doing, an update should only take a few hours. oh, and the iPhone & iPod are compatible. Good Luck

You are not crazy...(yet) That's whats so great about this forum. A person can find a lot of support and understanding of the issues that My Ford Touch users have. If I didn't have the affirmation found on this forum, I would have driven this POS through the showroom window long ago. Damn I like the Edge but give me a Over The Counter audio sytem that works instead of this experiment called MyFordTouch

I agree. Don't paint the panel. Work a deal with dealership for lifetime service or something. What's a fender repaint worth? plus add the fact that it's a BRAND NEW CAR!!! That ought to be worth a butt load on it's own Don't settle for a set of $50 floor mats.

I agree. You can't deny that this does look like a place of impact. I'm glad it's not a defect because my Edge has a way of finding them
