Right. 2.11 is just a patch to a few issues on the crippled MyFordTouch. That's why I'm no longer jumping to getting the update.

I like the integration of the built in navi. The Sirius travel link has potential in that it can warn you of traffic. It can show you a weather map (that sometimes works). When I'm low on gas, the map will display POIs of gas stations. but the maps are old and I sometimes find myself driving in a corn field

I have the cargo package on my Edge that I purchased in Sept last yr. I never heard of the parcel shelf. The security shade is not strong enough to hold anything so I wonder what that shelf is.

There are also negative reports on the 2.11 update. It doesn't sound like it's is much of a fix.

Consider a black limited. It will help to hide the black plastic body parts and the black vista roof.

So. You have one muffler with two tailpipes and it's not a Sport? I wonder if it IS because of the Tow Package I have. On a kinda related note...I've notice that the exhaust pipe condensates and drips at the Y split area. Really noticeable in cold weather.

I opted for the Limited for a few reasons... 18" AWD for practicality. Tow package not available on Sport & I thought it would be stupid to not get it. You never know when you need to tow something. Starting in '11, the tow hitch uses the standard 2" receiver. HID headlights not available on Sport and I HAD to have the HIDs. They are great. You can never have too much light. Diver's entry is a must. I didn't realize it wasn't available on the Sport. I like the black grille but I've grown to really like the chrome grille. It reminds me of the 1950 Ford truck. A replaceable grill insert is available for a reasonable price. One guy on the forum got one painted blue to match his Edge. I don't have a garage but learned that the Sport does not have the Homelink garage door openers. That may make a difference to you. As far as 11 v 12, I would bet you could get a new 11 for much less. Don't expect the '12 to have a better MyFordTouch system than the '11

A year ago there was a flurry of activity on the 2011 Edge forum. All kinds of excitement. Has anyone noticed the excitement on the 2012 forum? only one post since creation? Does that say anything about anything?

Are you able to push voice button and get results when you say "Services" ? You are on 2.8?? Is it time for 2.11?

Ha! "help" he was no help. It sounds like you have MyFordTouch. Not knowing what version you are on, It may help to reboot MyFordTouch. That is done by pulling FUSE 29. Hidden behind the kick panel in the drivers foot well. In later versions of software, the system knows when it needs to reboot and it does it it's self. No need to pull Fuse 29 Last resort, pull into the service bay at the Ford dealership and they can fix it in a few minutes.

Does your 11 SEL have MyFordTouch? I have a Limited w/ Touch and have no issues leaving my old iPod in the car thru our harsh winter and hellish summer. Sync is probably more compatible with Apple stuff than some cheap no name player. Have you considered a USB thumb drive?

I just finished a post where I raved about the climate in Edge. The only downfall was the MFT interface. Do you have MyTemp set? Is it defaulting to that setting? While I never noticed the set temp changing, there have been a few times where I felt the HVAC needed a 5hr energy drink. After increasing fan speed then setting back to auto, it woke up and blew cold.

I'm on 2.7 now but I don't recall not being able to view what's playing. I don't use the GraceNote option. I have it all turned off and use my own art. My OLD iPod has no issues with MyFordTouch...usually. I think I rebooted the iPod twice when I was on an early version of Touch.

The HVAC is awesome in the new Edge. I keep mine on auto at all times. One of the best features was recognized this past month of 100+ temps. When I get in the hot car, the AC kicks on full blast and blows COLD air NOW! AWESOME!!! The system is very capable but MyFordTouch interface sometimes interferes.

You are missing the top button "SYNC Services". That's the screen that has the big arrow on it

In a chat with Sync support, I asked if I should use Sync my iTunes and they said no. It is for Sync users and not My Ford Touch users. MFT deals with music differently
