Here are a few snapshots of my novice Prototype project. I think it would look nicer if I spent 12 minutes as opposed to 10 minutes on it. I like the fact that I don't have to unplug my USBs to remove the shelf. I drilled a 1 1/2 hole near edge then cut the opening with a hack saw. Yes. A hack saw. It was handy. (These shots really hi light the lame coin holder. Do you see any coins in the coin slots?) EDIT: I really like the shelf. Before I never wanted to use the ABYSS. You could loose your first born in that massive compartment. Now I can keep my junk below and keep my frequently used stuff organized. I used some Masonite bead board that I had left over from my kitchen remodel.

Good idea. I will focus on the HVAC settings. Heck it may be when my passenger closes her right vent.

I summoned my limited woodworking skills this afternoon for 5 minutes and cut myself a shelf for the console. I used a scrap of masonite and cut a 1 1/2 hole in the leading edge to allow for the wires and fingers.

I've got a black Edge and I've been using PoorBoy's Spray & Wipe and spent 5-10 minutes wiping mine down yesterday. Great stuff. I've been keeping a bottle in my car so I can get those bird bombs & bugs before they start eating my finish.

Sirius offers several plans/tiers of radio stations. It's kinda like the Cable TV providers. You have to pay extra to get the popular stations.

You should go back and get that SD card that they thought was in your car by mistake. They may have thought it didn't work when the system displayed an error. That is common with the fickle Touch system. Have the dealership plug the SD card back in and they should also make sure the Sync/Touch software is up to date. My '11 Edge's interior has been super quiet for 11 months. Just a few days ago I started getting a squeaking/rattling noise in the interior. My passenger says it is coming from the center stack area...in the vicinity of the Touch screen. I can't pinpoint it. Has anyone else experience squeaks coming from the dash area in their Edge? I see where there are complaints and a TSB for a squeaky seat. Could this be what I am hearing?

You mentioned a couple of things I hadn't heard before. I was previously assuming that the interface would be re-designed as well but it sounds like they are sticking with the current one. That's OK with me. I never had any problems with the layout of the interface. I can't wait to for the option to update at home. "Early 2012" can't get here soon enough!

Have you seen any SD Map updates? Would they be available at my local parts dpt if they were available?

Interesting. I have the same problem. It used to work when I had the trial subscription. That expired so I signed up for just the Travel Link portion. A few weeks later, I noticed traffic was "unsubscribed" I thought I just got sold the subscription that didn't include traffic I'm running v 2.7 on my Edge

Travel Link uses the Sirius satellite to provide traffic, gas prices, weather, movie time, sports scores.... I canceled my Sirius Radio and now I only subscribe to the Travel Link options.

Has anyone heard any status on the App Link feature for our MyFordTouch? Last I heard it was going to be available early 2011. Did Ford stop development for our current system to focus on the new generation of Touch? I've got Pandora and Stitcher still waiting on my iPhone

Are the 5 power outlets operational on all models? If not. Could it be for those ? Oh. how about the reading lamps in the back seat?

My KLUNK is sporadic but very unsettling when it does happen. In addition to the KLUNK, there is a very noticeable lag in acceleration when I do a "rolling stop". I've ended up adjusting my driving style to feather the throttle and to make sure I have enough space to allow for the slow response. I've been in once to get it addresses and I got told they couldn't recreate the KLUNK. The TSB has come out since and have it printed awaiting my next visit to the service bay. I would think the service department would be happy to perform the TSB. Why would they turn an owner down? Don't they get reimbursed by FORD?

Ya know? I've been watching the collection of orange puppet ads and they are kinda unsettling. Very odd for Ford. It's like they are trying too hard to be hip.

I heard about the new Lincolns. John McElroy was raving about them. I hope they rethink the MKT. I cringe every time I see one in the wild. Won't it be a few years before they hit the showroom floors?

This is a iPhone holder. If you got to ProclipUSA.com you will see that it's a two piece deal. You purchase the mount for the Edge ( they have two flavors), then you purchase the holder for you device. I had my holder in my Camry and just bought the mount for the Edge. They are pricey but very well built. Thanks for the +1 I hadn't noticed. Whatever floats their boat.

This time last year, the 2011 Edge & MKX was a flurry of activity. Does anyone have a 2012 on order?
