My salesman told me $ 125.00. He explained how to program a new key. Not sure if I would remember if I ever needed to.

My dealer installed the H & R springs on my MKX & there are no warranty issues. The manager of the dealership was curious about mine because he also has one & is planning on installing the springs on his.

Doesn't sound too good, since Ford is relying so much on the success of the Edge. With such a crowded marketplace, I'm sure some sales will end up going to other brands if folks need to wait an extended amount of time.

Not to mention that it also covers the subwoofer & what about the area where the spare is located? If you keep cleaning products etc in there, it appears you would need to unfasten part of the cover every time you needed access.

Anyone heard about any running boards ?
MKX2007 replied to amandashook's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
You might concider lowering springs. I found the MKX just high enough to be a little annoying getting into. Lowering it was just enough to cure that for me. I do think running boards might look pretty nice though. After all, most of the upgrades I see people make is more for appearence then real need? -
The look of the pipes is really sweet. After looking at quite a number of Edge/MKX, I think I've come to the conclusion that less wheel & more rubber looks the best. (My opinion) I think that lowering it would help offset the low profile of the tires. The grill is nice, but looks like the same type that everyone with a Ford product converts to. The factory grill almost made me choose the Edge over the MKX.

I ordered one yesterday for my MKX. It was $99.00 & $ 12.95 shipping.

Premium v. Audiophile front ends; anyone know?
MKX2007 replied to jeffreybehr's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
The term premium may be a bit misleading . I believe that the case of premium vs audiophile, the premium system is the cheap one. Not certain, but it may not come with a sub. That replacement woofer you used looks as though its designed for in home use. I'm thinking that surround will disintergrate very rapidly is AZ. -
Does the amp power all of the system or just the sub? Many sytems have a head that is a tuner only & has no power of its own. The amp would provide all of the power. Just a thought.

Upgrading the speakers is one of the easiest ways to improve your system. Then, if you want to spend bigger money an amp & larger sub.

New exhaust system for my SEL+ AWD
MKX2007 replied to jeffreybehr's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
I wonder if a kit would be cheaper/easier to install? Gibson has their kit available now & Magnaflow is due out in the next few days. -
What about in the space where the spare tire is or behind the panel on the rear drivers side?

I agree also. I also noticed as someone in another thread pointed out that the air volume seems to increase with the glovebox door open. Since the blower is right behind there, it gets a bit too noisey with it open.

It works exactly the same as factory installed with full use of all controls, including those on the steering wheel. Except for the incorrect antenna, you'd never know the differnce. I don't have iPod hooked up, so not sure if you would loose that or not. On the THX, it has an AUX position as well as SAT 1, 2 & 3.

If the dealership made a mistake, get them to take care of this. If you just got the head end, there is a BIG difference. I had this happen with a new 90 Chrysler. I wanted the Infinity system & they charged me full price to install just the head. I soon discovered what they did when I realized how bad the system sounded. Come to find out after a long hassle that it wasn't possible to get that system unless the correct wiring harness was installed when the car was built. Bottom line is that they tried to rip me off & I caught them. I ended up going to Consumer Protection & won my case. I brought my car to a custom shop & had a nice system put in at the dealers expense.

This can indeed be done. I forgot to order Sirius on my MKX & my dealership installed it in their custom shop. It operates exactly as the factory unit would. I did have to pay $495 for it though.
-
I'm curious if they actually have a seperate harness for Sirius, since the price is only $195. Doesn't seem to make sense they would make a whole different harness for 1 item. I'm particularly curious because I wanted Sirius on my MKX & forgot to order it. Didn't realize my mistake until I got a copy of the window sticker. By that time, it had just left the factory. I ended up paying $495 to add it on. They placed it up front & put on a non factory antenna. Never an offer to use factory parts. It does work as a factory installed would, but my thoufgt was that the wiring would already be in place in the back & factory parts would have been a breeze to install.

The Magnaflow website says more info will be avialable on the 18 th of this month about their kit for the Edge/MKX. Can't wait se see the look with the body kit. I'd go with something with a lot less mass on the wheels if it were me. Something like Niche Deez black look awesome IMO.

That type of paint started becoming popular in the early 90's. The first generation Dodge Intrepid had 2 or 3 extra cost colors that appeared to be different in certain lighting conditions.
