Pretty close; Arizona. At highway speeds, there is plenty of cooling even at 100 plus degrees. Its around town that more capacity would be better.

Nice to know a 12" will fit in there. My only concern would be taking the vent out under the seat to place the amp, since that is for the heated & cooled seat. I'd worry about starting a fire with the heat function on. I would think that perhaps the amp might fit in the spare tire well?

Vista Roof cleaning/detailing.
MKX2007 replied to Lowell's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
I used the brush attachment on the vacume cleaner to carefully clean it. A lot of debris collects everywhere under the glass as I discovered when I opened the roof while driving. I had to clean the whole inside of the car afterwards. -
I find that opening the glovebox door helps some. However, there is a LOT more fan noise & it looks a bit stupid riding around like that.

Does anyone know if there is enough room on the drivers side to locate a 2nd sub?

I have the 18" chrome clad wheels on my MKX. I've owned it for a year & so far, no issues. I've been using Mothers wheel cleaner & that doesn't seem to harm them.

As well as dust, leaves & all sorts of junk if you forget to clean out the roof tracks.

Same on my 07 MKX. It was starting to do it just about every morning on the first shift & seemed to be getting worse. They reprogrammed the computer in September & its been fine until last week. It feels as though its starting to slip for about 1/2 second, then slams very hard into gear.

Edge - DVD Navigation and Rear Entertainment TOGETHER?
MKX2007 replied to jack's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
This may not be an issue if you order from the factory. I have the BAMR but not the nav on mine. -
Torsion bars were used mostly on Chrysler products & were discontinued in the late 70's with the possible exception of some Dodge trucks.

I had my MKX parked at work the other day & somebody called me & said "hey, you know your window is open"? I went down to check & expected a break in, since this has happened a few times there. What I discovered were BOTH front windows down about 3/4 of the way. I know it has the feature where you press the remote & both windows open all the way & the Vista roof opens part way. I spoke with my service advisor & he said he has not received any other complaints on this. The thought is that someone else might have a remote with a code close enough that it triggered the windows. Anyone else have this happen?

I have both in my MKX, but have only used the DVD's with headphones. I think they will play through the THX or will with an adaptor.

My 07 MKX has started doing this again. They reprogrammed the computer in September & its had no further problem until this week.

I've heard that devices such as a Mobil Speedpass can interfere with the key. They advise to position them away from the key.

My MKX did this a few times on the very first shift. One morning, it shifted so hard & made such a noise, I thought something broke. The dealer took it it right in & gave me a Town Car to drive the 2 days they had it.They said it shifted hard the first 2 times, but no fault codes showed up. They reset it & I've had no further problem (its been about a month) since.

3DCarbon has them on their site. Not exactly the same & appear to be installed a bit further back.

I noticed that the pic also shows step bars, but no mention of them.

Observations after the first road trip
MKX2007 replied to blu by u's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
I 2nd that. It was getting to the point where it was difficult to find the Edge/MKX info between all the BS. -
I had the same thought. It seems I saw pics somewhere that originally they planned on having a sub on both sides.

When I had mine in for work, they gave me a Focus also. Actually, I was really surprised how well it drove for such a basic car. The A/C worked great. By the time I got the seat adjusted & was out of the parking lot, I already had to turn it down because it was so cold. The temp was in the upper 90's that day.

Got my H&R Sport springs installed
MKX2007 replied to scoopo's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
One more thing to keep in mind if you put on lowering springs is that the front of the car is now low enough that you need to be careful how you park as I discovered today. I pulled up to one of those parking lot curbs & just barely went over it. When I backed out, the front fascia dragged accross the cement & made a couple of scrapes along the bottom. No real damage done. -

They didn't, thats why I suggested it. After having my springs installed, they inflated them again when they did the alignment. -

Check the tire pressure if you haven't done so. I found that mine were all 43-45 Lbs. Bringing them down to 35 Lbs smoothed things out a bit. -
That explains why he acts the way he does here. Its the same as the wife wearing the pants in the household.

I would think that if the dealer wants your business, they could work out something to make you happy.
