  1. Hopefully, the end result won't be as bland in the back as it appears to be. The full width tail light is one of the most distinctive aspects of the car. The front looks OK. I hope the big news will be under the hood, 345 HP EcoBoost.
  2. I got mine new in July 07.
  3. Sounds just like mine except mine has 21,000 on it. The only issues I've had is the transmission shifts VERY hard on the fist cold shift. The dealer had it twice & can't duplicate the problem, even though it does it for me every day unless I go very easy on the gas until it shifts. The other issue was the leather peeling off the steering wheel. They put a new wheel on it.
  4. They build the transmissions in India?
  5. I hope your wrong on no 3.5 Ecoboost on the MKX. A 4 cylinder in a Lincoln just won't cut it in my opinion.
  6. Not everyone wants DRL's. I was browsing on line on this subject & there are many trying to figure out how to shut the DRL's off. Someone commented that they are required to be off at astronomy gatherings & on military bases. Some want to be able to idle to keep their heat or A/C running without needing the lights on as well.
  7. Pretty nice; Another thing that could be done is leave more length at the windshield. A premade cover will tuck down between the front of the dash & the windshield. The airbag should be no issue, since a premade cover goes about half the length of the vents.
  8. It seems that kids in the back could step on those & get a foot injury. I'm surprised this issue hasn't come up before.
  9. Those are plastic. I have the same on my MKX & so far, no issues.
  10. Its funny sometimes how things change. I remember when GM came out with DRL's, people were complaining they didn't want their lights on during the day. Some thought they would become so used to seeing lights, they wouldn't notice emergency vehicles approaching. Some swore they wouldn't buy GM because of them.
  11. The one in the Direct Ford Parts link shows $14.75.
  12. You shouldn't need any fuel stabilizer if its going to be less thrn 6 months unused. You may want to start it evry few weeks to keep the battery active.
  13. When your talking safety, almost is not enough. That little extra margain can make all the difference sometimes.
  14. I couldn't agree more. If your driving at night & for some reason need to look in the glovebox, the maplight is going to be blinding & you won't be able to clearly see in the glovebox until your eyes adjust.
  15. The best thing would be to bring it to the dealer when the noise is present. Ride with the service tech & verify they can hear it.
  16. You can get them from the dealer, but these are a little pricy. I paid $1695.00 on the X plan installed. The big advantage is the headrests are a correct match to the rest of the interior & are pretty much plug & play. Others have had good results with less expensive choices.
  17. For a minute there, I thought you & akirby changed places..
  18. I don't think K & N makes a cabin filter. The only ones I've ever seen are Motorcraft. You might want to check in the intake area beneath the winshield. That may be plugged with debris.
  19. My FLM dealer will get to see it at trade in time. $$$
  20. The Lincoln dash isn't as shiny as that. I have a black dash & could mostly see the glare in the side mirrors. Since its hot here all year, I bought a dash cover & solved the glare problem along with helping to protect the dash.
  21. Thats pretty much my point. Its seems to be mostly an off road truck, but much of the advertisng is promoting it as an on road truck as well.
  22. "As we entered Anza-Borrego State Park after about 80 miles of stop-and-go urban traffic and curving country roads, the most frustrating portions of the drive gave way to long, straight stretches of undulating highway with varying wavelengths and amplitudes that brought back memories of what it felt like to bomb across the desert as a passenger in the Raptor last fall. The Raptor firmly hunkered down and soaked up everything we could throw at it at any speed across this tamed ribbon of rolling desert terrain until we reached our destination for the first day." "What we learned: The Raptor lives to run in the desert, but it also works well as a daily driver"
  23. Those look pretty nice. I'd be curious if they fit.
  24. My local FLM dealer has 1 on their lot. Its not a bad looking truck, if a little bland as Ford trucks go. It looks more like an off road truck then for driving around town. I'd concider buying one, but would never pay a premium to get it. I think they had it right when they were building the Lightning.
  25. Another thing I realized last oil change is that the oil pump is at a slight downward angle. The filter didn't seen to want to screw on. Holding the filter down very slightly & it went right on.
