The exhaust looks sweet!!! It looks maybe as though you can see a fair amount of pipe hanging down as it crosses the back. It might just be the angle of the picture...... I have the Gibson cat back on ours and would love to hear the difference.. If your digital camera has a video mode, just take a quick 20-30 second video of someone starting and reving it a few times. Post it on Photobucket. It is what someone on this forum had me do with our exhaust. Actually, you can find the post with the link and hear for yourself. Does it have only 1 muffler, or is that a small one where it splits in the rear??? GOOD WORK!!! Ryan P.S. Keep us informed on the cold air intake!

We got the sel plus on the x-plan for 31,000. If you are driving alot, I would reccomend the Sirius. I never thought I would use it, but I am addicted now and is great for road trips. People on the forum can probably help you get a "pin" number so you can use the X-plan.

Don't blame us California people!!! We are not all like that. My wife and I bought ours from the same dealer Bleading Edge did and they were great. Galpin Ford is the dealship and they are always on the radio about selling the most vehicles in the nation. Its simple with the heat here. Open the friggin windows!! It isn't going to rain (only 3.5" this year) or watch the weather. Research your purchases better and calm down. Its pretty tough to see that huge glass roof and not ask to open and close it to see how it works. That is what turned us off on it. Go figure..... we actually noticed it before we got it home.....

We bought ours in the end of April and still no word from Sirius either. Maybe they will forget to call and also forget to shut it off after the 6 months is up..

You may have warped your front brake rotors. As you apply the brakes, it sends a shaking up through the wheel.
-
If you disconnect the ground it should stop. Pulling the ground cuts the ignition. Otherwise, the alternator will keep it running if the positive is unhooked. Same thing as jumping a dead battery. Once its started, it will run. God knows you can't work on the new vehicles without a scan tool anymore. Bad key switch maybe....???...

I found a site with all the specs for the Edge. It lists the FWD and AWD with different drive ratios. Maybe the odometers are set differently and hers is not right. Its possible..... Should be filed under "MINOR ISSUE". Gear Ratios 1st 4.484 2nd 2.872 3rd 1.842 4th 1.414 5th 1.000 6th 0.742 REV -2.882 Final Drive FWD: 2.77; AWD: 3.16 All you math whiz's figure it out, but I bet its close to the world ending problem. I know exactly what you mean!! Its is like a stale or mildewy odor. I have smelled it on the Edge and in many Ford vans I drive at work. I have been told to spray air freshner up by the cabin air filter. Front passenger seat up under the dash. It seems like some sort of "funk" with the filter.

Our SEL+ with Sirrius, chrome clad rims, and DVD etc had a sticker of $32,740. X-Plan price was $31.007. Plus tax and all that.

Its a tough trade off Janis. You could sacrifice taking the Edge and opt for the bigger trailer, or you could use your Edge and find nice campgrounds. My parents are semi-retired and travel with a big 40ft motorhome and actually search out nice campgrounds with nice amenities so they don't have to use the ones in the RV. Mostly restrooms and showers. That tent trailer looks perfect to tow for the Edge. Find a nice clean campground and you have everything you need. I'm sure with your agility events, you have plenty of time to research some places to stay in advanced.

What made you choose your Edge?
818EDGE replied to Edgy Girl's topic in Competing Crossovers & Vehicles
We needed a vehicle to accomodate our new baby and the wifes Jetta just wasn't goint to work. Plus that thing was a time bomb ready to blow up. She was in love with the Murrano, but after looking at the Edge, GMC Acadia, Murrano and the CX-7, we chose the Edge. The look did it. I hate the feel of Nissans CVT(or lack of feel). CX-7 seemed small, etc. X-plan helped too! -
Does the manual suggest towing with the overdrive off? I haven't even checked to see.
-
Unfortunately, you probably won't be able to get anything much bigger than a pop up trailer. You are towing with basically nothing more than a car. You probably could excede the total weight, but it is obviously not recomended especially if there are lots of hills. It strains the brakes and transmission even more trying to stop and pull more weight on hills. Plus a larger trailer can push the tow vehicle if stopping real hard or skidding. Lots of people without knowing overload their vehicles all the time and have nothing happen, but you actually caring about doing it right would be the one to have something go wrong.
-
Not a whole heck of alot left for your trailer figuring 4100 lbs for the vehicle itself plus people, cargo, and the weight of the trailer itself.
-
Ours was accurate on our last long trip. Don't forget, that sometimes if you top it off a little extra, you can change what it seems like you used.
-
I just checked the window sticker that I have in the garage and we also got the Class II. It was $350 and came with the same battery too. The sticker say "HD 68amp battery"..Wouldn't it be a 68amp alternator and maybe a heavy duty battery?? EDGEOPHILE---- It is perfect for a bike rack. We are going to use it for a slide in cargo rack. One road trip with the baby and need some extra space for the long trips.
-
Ours came with the small hitch from the factory. It is a 1 1/4" shank which is good for 350 lbs tongue weight and 3500 lbs trailer. It won't tow much more than our Sea-Doo's. The factory one is smaller just to save space and not be so visible. The vehicle isn't rated for enough to really matter which hitch you use. http://www.etrailer.com/hitch-2007_Ford_Edge.htm This site has a bunch of different ones for the Edge.

W O W!! That will top my list for Santa!

The wife and I did a trip to Vegas from LA last week to see her dad and averaged 23.4 mpg. Almost 600 miles round trip with some city driving. Freeway was 75-90 mph, 100-115 degrees and the AC cranking. Very happy with those results. We could have gotten better MPG but on the Interstate 15 you could get run over doing anything less than 80! The speed kills the gas usage.

We got ours on the X-plan and it was the easiest purchase I've ever made. It wasn't as large of a discount as we expected, but the sales guy showed us the invoice which has the A and Z prices too. Those prices were not a whole lot less than the X price. He said that the plan prices are different on all the cars. For instance a Mustang or basic F-150 was like $5000 off for X-plan. The sticker on our SEL Plus was $32,740 and $31,007 price was. Not a bad discount for not having to argue back and forth for hours. We grinded them a little on the trade in of the wife's old Jetta and ended up getting a grand more than they originally offered. Also was 0.7% financing at the time. We probably could have saved a few more bucks, but not having to be there all day with a pregnant(at the time) wife was worth a ton of money.

2007 Ford Edge: Technical Service Bulletins (TSB)
818EDGE replied to Edge Guide's topic in Recalls, TSBs & Warranty
Ours pulls to the left. Dealer said it was the crown of the road. I told them that it would go to the right then. I double checked air PSI in tires and let it be. Thought it could maybe be front wheel drive steering torque. Where can we get more info on these TSB?
